I agree on the playing of Gary Taylor, drummer. He is the only drummer I have heard that picked up on the original Aja Steve Gadd "stick click" (many thought was an accident) on the play of the 1st drum solo. Listen for it at 4:34. Then his 2nd solo, beginning at 6:33 with the as Gadd two tom hits, is pretty astonishing. Enjoy.
I could listen to you all play that outro for another ten minutes longer. The thing I could not believe when I saw Steely Dan live in August 2013 at Troutdale, Oregon's Edgefield Amphitheater is that this magnum opus was the 2nd song on their set list. I guess that's when you know you have a very deep catalog.
Damn fine job. You people are good. And hank,, He does skunk baxter, Elliot Randal, Larry Carlton and jay graden as far as I can tell. Very smooth hank. That sax was right also . vocals nice too.
Video recorded on a Nikon Dx-70 and audio recorded on a Tascam digital recorder right off of the sound board. Recorded was a stereo mains output with separate bass channel, remixed down to stereo in protools. Great band for sure. Hank is playing in La Jolla at Hennessey's tonight, come on down if you are in San Diego.
Is the Alexi Sayle look a like lead vocalist not in fact the drummer in previous incarnations of this band? Anyways the bassist is the unsung hero of this ensemble, to pull off a masterpiece of music such as Aja is a tall order, congrats to the Damned, a fine job.
All right I've made enough comments....but. SD must have been thinking. of HERBIE HANCOCK'S works with lyrics.....the would be no AJA...without MAIDEN VOYAGE or TELL ME A BED TIME STORY
One of the best drumming versions of Aja I've heard!!
The fills are epic!
My favorite song in all the world

I was curious about the drumming on this...
DAMN GOOD JOB, SIR!!! 👍👍
COVID brought me here! Man the drummer nailed it! Awesome!
Started the drums at 6 years old and is still not happy with his playing..."that's the way they are...the prefectionists."
Absolutely friggin beautiful...biggest fan....
So good..... Seeing the Steely Damned live in San Diego will always be among my most cherished memories.
This is just perfection
Such a Pro move when Hank kneels down for the Drum Solo, real showmanship!
Wow, this is a difficult song, specially the drums. I really enjoyed it.
very well done

@@brettgardner4381 next time I'm in San Diego I'll for sure come for a listen. What do tickets run for these days? And ty for responding
My all time favorite Steely Dan song and these guys just nail it. Drummer is Steve Gadd clone
Came back because I was needed
Fab. Subscribed.
Wow, everyone is great! I particularly vocalist. I wonder whether these guys ever tried Phil Collins/Genesis covers.
Jeez, it,s ALL Fantastic, but i always listen to the 2 minute instrumental at the end , Gary Taylor is inch perfect with the drumming, BRILIANT.
I feel down and can't get up!
(Beer)
where do these awesome musicians come from ? I wish I could play even close.
They decided to play pool with their music lesson $, were piss poor at it and went back to music. I know I played pool and never lost and I'm broke.
My God the Drummer nailed it.

Drummer did Keith Carlock proud!
I always wondered what this song was about?

What's the name of this band??!
Just call me Capt. FOX nys Trooper
My reteats

Drummer is a pro
The guitar is too loud in the mix, but still good
Live off of the board 2 channel mix, not much you can do. There are other mixes with 20 channels that are better.
th-cam.com/video/E07ojFRiXvE/w-d-xo.html for a 20 channel mix
@@brettgardner50 In that case, above and beyond. 👍👍
I ride a sttopped Horse
HaHA
Best drum solo, spoiled by the sax with a really awful interruption
the drummer plays it better than Keith Carlock...a lot better. Great rendition, the entire band, but the drumming is as close to Gadd as you can get.
