    TIME FER LEARNIN':
    Several of the most venomous types of snakes have _solenoglyphous teeth_ which retract into the jaw, and can be flicked out like a switchblade to inject venom into their prey and then retracted while they went for said prey to succumb. I figured a danger noodle that hangs out in a pool waiting for someone to reach out and grab it's "hand" would probably rely on something like that for hunting. Hence why you can't see the teefsies. I had meant to talk about that in my commentary, but I got busy making poop jokes, so you got that instead and you get this little bit of learnin' in the comments.

    as I nerd a like to analyze ideas like this and imagine how the snake would act irl. this big wormy dealy would probably inhabitant frequently visited spots by humans, like the pond in the park. when it's victim grabs its hand instead going straight for the bite it would most likely grab it with the tongue and pull it into its maul. I love the artwork and I love the ideas you come up with. If I had to give it one critique for realism sake I'd say the snake would be a much earthier color. Thanks for your amazing videos!

      yeah but are you a tiny thingy nerd?

    • @Cheeseanonioncrisps
      @Cheeseanonioncrisps 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hmm… I think the problem with the pond in the park is that, while it would be easy to find prey, it would also be easy to be found *by* prey. Humans are territorial by nature and also dangerously smart. A snake living in the park might take out a few people at first, but the end result to that is the pond in the park being fenced off and potentially drained and/or filled in with cement.
      The good thing about being a snake, however, is that you don't have to feed very often. And the larger the snake, the less frequently it needs to eat- anacondas typically feed only four or five time a *year* (which is fucking insane). A snake this big, that is feeding off prey as large as humans, could probably go a good six months or more in between meals.
      As such, the most important thing would not so much be finding prey (although obviously it would need to make sure that there was at least some guaranteed supply of humans walking by) as avoiding witnesses. Snakey boi's best bet would be to lurk near some resource that is desirable enough to attract some humans, but in a surrounding environment that is inhospitable enough that there aren't whole crowds of them hanging around at all times.
      As such, I'd vote for swamps and marshes. Humans visit them on a regular basis for the wildlife, but generally in pretty small isolated groups as opposed to huge crowdsj. Also a lot of people visiting would be tourists who wouldn't be familiar with the area, and therefore wouldn't know to be cautious about the snake. And the area is dangerous enough on its own merits that people wouldn't necessarily question it if a couple of tourists went missing every year.

    I've seen some stuff like that happen with pressure pots, only instead of leaks, it was due to the expansion of the air within the resin, causing it all to bubble up and spill out of the moulds. Glad the second one worked out! Looks amazing as always!

    • @jasperdrawings
      @jasperdrawings 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah, as one of those weirdos that find snakes adorable, it’s cool to actually see a snake monster design that is isn’t just a snake. Those monsters feel cheep playing on the fear that not everyone has and also is the reason people kill harmless snakes so it’s cool to see a monster snake that is actually acts like a monster. I always appreciate monster designs based on animals where the artist actually uses the real animal as inspiration. Case and point, watch Snake Discovery’s video on why the basilisk in the second Harry Potter movie isn’t actually even a snake. People always seem to continue the myths about reptiles in their monsters, so it’s cool to see them actually represented in media. That being said even my bearded dragon has taken her turn mistaking my hand is food.

    I think what probably ended up happening to the resin in the pot is that the air inside the resin expanded so much that it overflowed and just poured out the top. Maybe you could try using less resin at a time, doing layers? Loved the end result anyways, always love your videos, keep up the great work.

    I can see a whole story with this, one of those classic "The holes have been randomly popping up all over the place" kinda thing, and each different location makes them a different snake, like their species adapted to it's surrounding, so they look like larger snakes from that area. But oh boy are they not XD
