Reuben Bain is making huge contributions as a freshman. I can't remember the last time the University of Miami had a DL come in and produce this early and just look like he's been doing it for years! A real stud!!
Neither Wilkork nor Rousseau did it as freshmen!! Don't get me wrong, both of those guys are top 10 D linemen in Miami History in my book, but what Bain is doing is in rare company indeed!!

He was 2nd string behind William Joseph and Matt Walters in 2001 and 2002. There's actually a great video that came out this week on the Miami Hurricanes: Legends Chat, where Wilfork talks about it at about 26:00 or so. He did play well his freshman year despite not starting but he did not have almost 120 snaps after 4 games. Rare indeed.

Idk he has put on a few pounds but just like skinner he can't gain weight. Watching his film from games he's been in he hasn't looked too impressive. Though he was ranked higher than Nyjalik he's not better than him. Bain is definitely better and Wayne is going to be monster. The young guys are coming in with the size Moss can't seem to get to. Proud to have him though and love his determination. At the end of the day he is a CANE from out of state who hasn't quit and ran to the portal so much respect and keep grinding 39 your time will come.
I knew Mario was the answer. I had the pleasure of meeting him and shaking his hand after the GT game. I told him that I believe in what his plan is and if we, the fans would get behind him, we'll be happy fans really soon.
Rueben Bain was ranked a four star but was Clearly playing at a 5 Star Level through-out his H.S. career...anything he does in a positive manner is really just expected from him (he's that good). A true championship player and leader. He's such a good leader he'll be just as successful after he decides to move on from football (quality through and through)....sports is just this part of his journey.
All these stats are wonderful. Let's see where we stand in 2 games. Couple things 1. I would put Lee and Kinchens on the same level of being irreplaceable. 2. Couch may have had 2 picks last game but let's be honest, they were thrown right to him. Couch has been targeted the most of our DB's. He has also given up multiple explosive plays AND TD's. I'm not saying I know more than the coaches but I find it hard to argue that now that we're starting ACC play we should Start Devonte Brown and Porter Jr. On the outside and start Jaden Davis in the slot. I feel like that's the strongest DB trio we got. We shall see. LETS GO CANES! If we can find a way a way to win our next 3 games we will be ranked in the top 10.

That also adds in purposeful delay of game penalties to help the punter and avoid not having to burn a TO and an unimpactful time of the game. 1 less penalty per hafl and you'd be sitting around 50th. Its a bit deceiving

If I were to pick a duo that played together it would be Kelly Jennings and Marcus Maxey. Irvin and Lewis don't add wins to our current team. Though Kiko seems to always get beat in coverage.
I’d add Vince Wilfork and Andre Johnson. Imagine Andre Johnson on one side and Colbie on the other with Restrepo in the slot. Then Wilfork taking on the double team and freeing up Leonard Taylor to go 1 on 1.

I'm starting to believe that 8 - 4 is a very good possibility after having thought all off season that we'd be 7 - 5. We'll have to see how it all plays out. I want to see how the team is going to respond during more adversity and if/ when a loss finally happens. Will they stay on the deck or will that drive them harder than ever? We shall see, my friend. I disagreed! This is not the same team from last year. This team is mature and playing with confidence. Especially our OL is more physical and has great chemistry.
Our schedule needs amped up,we should play FSU and FL every damn year,these temple and bethune games need to go away,I'm tired of our fans getting pumped about those wins. We look great for sure this year,I'm excited but hesitant we have to win the conference this is the first year since joining the ACC I think it's possible. But I'm also being realistic,our best win is A&M,that's not the best team were going to play
I emphatically disagree with your DB coverage analysis. The success of coverage can not depend on one guy. If you do, then that one guy is masking the problem. If Kam were out the entire season, you couldn't say, "Well, the defensive coverage is bad because Kam is out." I happen to think the coverage numbers are skewed. Yes, the secondary has given up a few big plays, but what we see is that Guidry has the DBs playing soft coverage when the team has a big lead. I wish he wouldn't do that, but when they do play soft coverage, the DBs are so far of the WRs that they're not even on the screen when the WRs make a catch. So, they are allowing a high rate of completions and a lot of yards after the catch because they are so far off. I would like to see some stats on coverage on coverage when the game is < 1 score difference vs. coverage with more than a 2 touchdown lead.
