So, to add to this story, when Grace Toof left the 320 acres with her husband and went to Honduras, the 320 acres was considered Toof-less. Yeah, that was bad. I'll see my way out.

Wow, wow, wow! I did not know the story about Augustus and Grace. That Augustus was a sly fox, it's a wonder the people didn't string him up! Unfortunately, I don’t think Elvis was very nostalgic. I think he was convinced his fame and fortune were destine to fail and he would barley be a footnote in history let alone a legend where people would be left scrounging up every little bit of his life years after his death. Additionally, I think if he did not have an untimely death but had quietly faded away parceling off everything he owned including Graceland to private owners history would have viewed him differently. Sad but true.

Wow quite a bit of history. It had all that cattle on the land. That was a lot a land before Elvis bought it. Three people including Elvis died at Graceland them? His Grandmother, Elvis and the owners Daughter Grace. Thank you for sharing these Elvis mysteries with us. A Elvis fan for life. Long live Elvis! I stand corrected .
Good point, actually it was Grace, Elvis then grandma that died on the property. Aunt Delta died at a hospital. This was one of my favorites to make but I know is an earful! Thanks for watching!
Air conditioning in the barn ... that made me laugh. Great history of the family who owned Graceland before Elvis. Augustus was certainly a man of low morals and while Grace did not commit the crime she absconded with her husband and the cash too. Graceland would give the appearance of a home built in the 1800's and purposefully so i would guess yet it is really a very recent home not even 100 years old yet. Loved this video a lot as I am a history buff, mainly Irish and European history so it is interesting to hear about the native american tribes and the trail of tears, something I will have to further read about. Thanks and keep them coming.

His wife must have been without a moral compass as well! I would definitely watch a movie on this true story. Maybe send it to someone like Kevin Costner to star in and to Direct and Produce.
Maybe one day Graceland will be able to recover the full 480 acres! 1939 isn’t very old when Elvis purchased it! No wonder Gladys loved it so much there! Ward got what he deserved in the end: jail and a divorce! It’s a wonder that anyone would take a chance on a jailbird and marry him! The theme of jail makes a nice transition to Elvis with “Jailhouse Rock”. 😊❤
