On Friday August 2, 2024, just after 7 p.m., officers with Riverside Police Department responded to some type of disturbance in the 2900 block of Prospect Avenue where it was reported an adult male was shot. At that time, someone at the residence where the incident occurred drove him to the hospital where he is being treated. While police officers were enroute to the location, they learned of the suspect’s involved in the shooting and spotted their vehicle leaving the area. At that time, police officers engaged the suspect vehicle, which continued onto the 91 freeway in both east and west directions, exiting onto city streets multiple times after multiple collisions on the freeway. The vehicle exited onto Spruce Street, then intentionally drove onto the railroad tracks where it became disabled. Both suspects ran from the vehicle and then surrendered to approaching officers.
