Runs 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ to the dollar store! Ha!
😂
I agree! I loved the kits and bought some more again this year
Me too, I picked up 4. This time a zucchini plant which I haven't done before.
@@PloughmansBackyard Didn't see those. Bought cayenne peppers
I didn't see the cayenne peppers!! I'll have to keep my eyes opened! 😉
This is interesting...I'm glad it worked well. I haven't seen those at my store yet. They've sold All American brand seeds for several years and tiny bags of soil. If they encourage people to garden thats a good thing.
In the 90s seed companies began announcing "non GMO" on packets to calm the fear of GMO seeds that was sweeping the gardening world back then. This was even though all seeds sold on the retail market were and still are NON GMO. Companies who produ e GMO seeds work to protect their patented seed genetics, and it's against the law to sell gmo seed.
Interesting. I was surprised, and sceptical but they did well. Great for someone just starting out, or with little room or equipment.
I'm in Canada also and will be starting the strawberry kit today. Did you end up getting any strawberries and what did you do with the strawberry plant in the fall/winter?
So the strawberries take a longggggg time to really get going. I planted mine outside and they over winter fine. The strawberry and lavender I probably wouldn't do again just for how long it takes to get to maturity.
Thanks for this informative video!
How much time had passed between each update in the video? For example, how long until you saw the first sprouts, and how long until your second update where they all grown?
I just bought some of these kits and curious as to how long it'll take to see results the package says 4 weeks?
Thanks!
Hi! Glad you enjoyed the video. I know the first update was 1 week and 1/2 before I had my first sprouts on most. The strawberries took longer and the lavender was really hard to grow. The second update when everything was pretty fully grown was two months after planting. I also purchased more this year because us was so happy with the outcome. The herbs were fantasist, cucumbers did awesome and so did the tomatoes. I don't recommend the lavender though, more died then lived.
Think Spring Kendra! 🍅🍓 I just cut down a cherry tomato in the greenhouse. The seed came from the Dollar store 15 years ago 4/$ 1.00. Great results save some seed.
Wow!!!! That's amazing! I have tiny tims seeds from 2014 still going strong. Good to know about $ store seeds though. Thanks Dave 😊
Is growing indoor necessary and how do you know when to transplant to another pot and outside?
In Canada where we are located it is necessary as we only have approx 60-75 days to grow our crops to maturity. Places that don't have long or cold winters may not need to plant indoors. Planting indoors gives us a longer growing season. Basically you know they need to be transplanted once they show signs that they are in a too small of pot, could be yellowing of leaves, or producing fruit too early etc. we transplant outside once the weather is better and there is no chance of frost. Up to the 1-2 week is June we can still get temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
@@PloughmansBackyard thank you so much for your answers. I’m here in Cali so I think I’ll start them outside within this next week although I may be a week late. I appreciate you, and great videos. ❤️ God bless
Oh anytime! Best of luck with your garden 🙂
they are gmo, nearly all plants we cultivate are genetically modified to be either bigger or more nutritious
These ones from the dollar store are Non-Gmo.
