Thanks for the tip on the driver. My holiday buggy driver compartment will look fine in the car, but I used satin black acrylics to paint the base and I can see every brush stroke in all 3 coats lol. Next time I’m using sharpie lol
Loved the series on this kit/body resto , and you have done this justice Glenn and the paint isnt exact but like you said for now it will do but a set of reproduction decals from MCI would be great , one question id like someone to answer some day is who's Major Pro ? 🙂 thanks again Glenn yet another sweet as Video
If you limit the downtravel out back it will cut the ''barrel roll'' it tends to do in fast corners! I love the Driver figure and it has ''Rode along'' in most of my buggies and currently is in my Cigarette Boat......He's had a busy life for the last 38 years!
Good job on that Glenn. As I said I remember that chassis with the plastic box for all the electronics in the form of a ford ranger. I couldn’t quite get my head around it to be honest. But as I say that looks great👍👍👍👍
I’m a die hard sand scorcher fan but the servo saver setup is way better on this chassis. Also, the original super champ came with hardened steel rear axle universals and hardened steel front arm shafts which are a nice upgrade for runners if you can find them. The originals also had these awesome tiny steel rod ends for the steering which just helped with the scale even more.
Yes get the SC decals from MCI they are fantastic quality and fit excellent. Tried to find a Tamils LF battery no dice what battery did you use for yours I sill have my original SC with the old hump battery’s but being almost 40yrs old they won’t charge anymore excellent video 👍🏻
I am currently restoring an original superchamp, what surprised me with this were the differences, the re re is downgraded in number of areas, the most obvious one being the steering joints, there is far less play in the original superchamp steering setup compared to the ordinary Tamiya plastic ball joints as used in the re re. the re re also seems to do without the hardened steel UJ, does it have the hardened steel from beak pins for the trailing arms or the standard mild steel items? If interested I will let you know when mine is done if you would like to do a comparison back to back?
I love watching your builds and restorations. Your attention to detail is incredible. This turned out great !
Would love to get hold of one of these. Hopefully available again soon

Maybe to get a bit more steering and clearance to the servo move thr ball ends to the inner holes
Great vid once again ; )

Also, in the fighting buggy manual, it actually tells you to cut down the inner plastic rod ends 👍🏻
