Thanks to you my friend, I’ll never going to do this to my baby, I don’t like much the sound. The best looking stock pipes in the industry. No need to change them either.
Great mod. Ive done it . Excellent compromise between the drill out baffle mod (which sounds too "hollow" too me and the stock exhaust. BTW, there ARE caps at the end of each baffle as apposed to what some other commenter stated.
SMOOTH AND THROATY! Great job #Ricky Limo and thanks for sharing!!!! I'm thinking of doing this and/or drilling about 4 symmetrical holes into the baffles of each exhaust (because I love the look of the stock pipes). I have a '12 RaideR and it’s always been my worry/complaint that for such a big and powerful bike.... it is way too QUIET! IMO: 'UN-SAFELY (my made up word)' QUIET. And, that's coming from a person who typically never liked loud bikes. Again, I have been thinking about doing this for some time, but my concern is that it will somehow throw off the ECU and create a loss in fuel economy???
Coya It didn't seem to have any effect on my CPU it still drives just as great as it did before I did it. Also I'm still getting 43 mpg. I think it's such a small increase in exhaust flow that the CPU has no problem making up the difference
Don't we need to remap the fuel injection system? There is less restriction and therefor need to adjust the rest. Like carbs I don't think because it is fuel injection that will unjust by it self. I have myself a 2008 Raider too
I did not do anything to my computer to adjust the air fuel ratio. My guess is it's such a small change In exhaust flow that the computer adjusts for it without any issues. I have not had any issues before or since the work. Also I still get same gas mileage about 43mpg. Hope that answers your question.
Yamaha cams due to design have always sounded like that. I had an 82' Seca 650 and a 750 that sounded pretty much the same. The gear train also has some noise but its normal.
It doesnt make it any faster just louder. You just make more neighbors hate you now. I have a 2009 Yamaha Roadliner s and its the same engine. Stock exhaust. It get loud enough when i give it gas. The exhaust opens up at higher throttle openings.

I have exactly the same bike. Year, color but and strips. Love it!

Damn I wish this Yamaha model where sold here in Sweden!
They look awsome 👌
Great video, keep up the good work. Look forward to additional videos.
Years ago we used to place a Johnson bar into the pipes, and hit them with a sledgehammer. Even then it seemed like it took half a day.
Lovee the color. Any issues with your bike if you still have it.
You loose back pressure and also have popping on deceleration so you would need to get a pvc or get ivan flash on your ecu
No you won’t as catalytic converter still in place which makes huge back pressure alone.
Bike is. Already plenty loud at stock. Louder maybe safer but also headaches in long ride
Sounds fantastic
There is no plug. You are just punching a hole through the bend in the baffle. Just buy a 3 7/8 hole saw & drill out the baffle.
wrong. there is a plug at the end of each baffle. They do NOT bend whatsoever.
There is cap which is soldered in with 4 contact solders, so it is easy to get them out
Hitting a Yammer with a hammer? Seems to have worked.
How has raid Yamaha raider pleas?

I think you're talking about backpressure. I think that I would want to take the catalytic converter out bef not the baffles
I think you do have to remap the system I have a 2015 and wish is was a little louder without spending a few thousand bucks
Sounds great!
Can barely hear a difference
Might want to get your ears checked, major difference
When your hearing is damaged by cobra or VH exhaust you get such comments 😂
Maybe it’s just my phone 📱
What's with the winding noise?
Im not sure about the winding noise you are talking about. When does it occur in the video?

Its a turbo
Possibly shaft drive
@@jmblind there is no shaft drive in Raider, sound you hear is belt.

you mean baffle?
Great bike , shame he is a modifier though
Lol 😴
Hack. Do it right.
