This was a wonderful birthday hike! You just can't get any more scenic than that area with the mountains, the snow and all of those lakes! Wow! And......that ice cream is the best! Happy Birthday Barb! Great hike! It always amazes me how snow can be still on the ground in July an you can clearly see the sun shining down on it. You think it would melt it. I'm sure it stays cold enough for it to stay but still amazing.

@laurenbouchie2394 It's crazy how cold those mountains get. For example today my hands were completely numb on the summit. It was freezing up there!

Hi Nick, my fellow, salty army man! Happy Birthday 🎂. It’s my birthday in about a week and guess where we are camping!!🎯🎯🎯 we have had this planned all summer. Love the Snowies!!!!! This hidden Gem is well known now! Packed on the weekends! Mosquito’s are horrible now!
@wellsonwheels457 The salt must flow! Haha! Good luck on your camping trip! Hope you get good weather. Those mosquitos are like mutants out there. We always take the citronella incense cones and they work pretty well. But only while they are burning. As soon as they burn out here come the mutant mosquitos!

a type of beetle Sawyer or LOnghorn. they fed on pines, invasive but not like emerald ash borer beetle.

Great video and all. I was just there yesterday and also a month ago with my wife. But how is it that you're able to hike Off Trail? Isn't that illegal and against Forrest Service recommendations 🤔
@HikeColorado It's all just regular Medicine Bow National Forest in there. Not a wilderness area or national park. If it's legal for people to let their dogs run all over the place and destroy the land with camping I'm sure it's okay to walk off trail on some rocks.
Hi Nick. In the Medicine Bow area, what is your suggestion for an easy to medium day of hiking there?
@brianmorley4776 Starting down at the Lake Marie TH and taking the trail to the east past all the lakes up to Medicine Bow Peak - Sugarloaf Saddle is a really scenic hike. It's got some up and down but isn't too crazy.
