- I've worked on plenty of newer systems but I've never had to RESTORE one! This poor controller took some abuse, hopefully it will fair better in round two 😬

I once bought a DS4 for 10€ as "for spare parts" with practically all controls stuck in place... it turned out that there was so much "sweaty caramel" that absolutely nothing inside could move normally.. .after several hours of scrubbing and retching, it came out to be in an absolutely perfect state.

You absolutely can run boards with water if you wanna deep clean, just make sure it’s 100% dry before you put a battery back in or it’ll fry.
This is actually very helpful since my controller also doesn't turn on, i just need to buy the potentiometers but idk which ones to get, I'm afraid of getting really cheap ones but i also don't wanna spend more than 10-15$

Nice one! Didn't the corrosion on the metal in the battery compartment give any issues and is there nothing you could do about it?
My xbox one s controller has a problem, the right bumper barely ever works. Also the micro usb port is in the wrong place. I want to take it apart to see what is wrong with it but im waiting for my torx 8 security screwdriver to arrive, do you know where to get new bumper buttons for the 1708 model?

@@VideoGameRestoration ah alright. Thanks for the response, i can't solder and don't really know anyone who can so for now i'm stuck with the broken controller. I opened it up and it actually turned out to be the actual switch that was faulty. I tried putting other bumpers on it but they didn't work either and even if you press the switch in very hard it barely ever works at all. I bought it secondhand a while ago but it looked like there maybe is some liquid damage on the board next to the switch bc there was a weird kinda shiny sticky stain on the board right next to the switch. Sorry for the late response.
So i accidentally turned off my xbox one s while it was updating and now it says I have to use a usb or something it gives me 2 more suggestions which are reset and turn off and the reset will not work do you have a clue on what I can do?
