There definitely should be an explanation to why everyone online as well as non-Korean experts are talking about this concrete wall and why the Korean news and officials are putting all the emphasis on the birdstrike and technical issues. Edit: The runway length seems to have been adequate for most commercial aircraft; it's just that the length was considered risky for emergencies and now that there are discussions about extending the length from 2.8 km to 3.16 km.

im not an expert but the engines powers the whole thing. without that power, they cant lower the flaps, they cant lower the gears. they can however use the help of the gravity extention thing but its located behind the seats. its really hard to either spot or grab on during time critical situations like this. so imagine going so fast and have little to no ways of slowing down, all while facing multiple system failures
Not having the the landing gear down is the main reason of the crash, no matter how chaotic it’s been up their no way a pilot can forget to lower the landing gear especially if they had multiple attempts of landing

Heart wrenching. Condolences to the family of the victims.
Desde Paraguay Sudamérica, con profunda tristeza .a toda Corea cristiana resignacion😢
Rip those dead people and best wishes to those survivors for future 😢 from India 🇮🇳
They are so devastated. I can't understand what they are saying but their anguish brings tears to my eye. RIP to the loved ones lost.
so many young kids and teens also lost their lives, considering the low fertility rate in South Korea this is even sadder.
There were no children on this flight. That’s a lie.
@ the list has been already released, and it contains names of many young kids and teens.
@@Raynai87672 There are almost always children and young people on commercial flights, why wouldn't there be
@@Raynai87672 3살 아이도 있는데 어디서 무슨 얘길 들은 거야?
48 hours as acting president and he's already dealing with a massive tragedy.
Kinda suspicious that the president transferred positions 48 hours BEFORE the crash.
Words cannot express what these families are feeling. My condolences to all the affected families. I pray their souls rest in peace.
My heart aches! Vacation time means that several of our students head to Jeju. I am stressing over this as we do not go back to school until January 2.
Make sure the plane isnt Boeing
My deepest condolences and prayers to the victim's families who perished in this horrible accidents. They may all rest in eternal peace.🙏
Worst year for korea
So far
1980 was the worst. 1987 comes next.. and this year might actually be third.
@sankang9425 what about the 2022 stampede during Halloween?
@@nchmusic99 That kind of accidents happen few times every decade. It is a tragedy but doesn't even come close to 1980.
Many people are aware of the incident at Tiananman square in June 4th, 1989; but not many people seem to know about May 24th, 1980. And it happened all over the city.
Condolences and prayers to all the victim’s family🙏🙏🙏
That's the worst thing you don't want to hear, your loved one's name. That is so hard to watch man. Condolences to the families, and the departed loved ones may their souls rest in peace. 🙏
是誰建議做這牆,沒這牆全机人的命運可能改寫
Heartbreaking…….condolences from the Uk❤
This really hurts🥺💔. My deepest heartfelt condolences to the family and love ones of the victims.May their souls rest in peace.
My heart breaks for the victims of this tragedy and the family members as they heard the names of their loved ones being called 😢 I could not help but drop my tears 😢 May their souls rest in eternal peace where one day they will reunite with their loved ones 🕊️🤍✨my deepest condolences to all.
Media outlets: talks about the bird strike
Actual aviation experts: talks about the concrete reinforced foundation for localizer antennas
Sorry for the lives lost, S. Korea. But why on earth was there a wall built at the front perimeter of the runway? An open sand buffer is way more useful to slow down a plane in the event it overshoots the runway.
In South Korea, the issue is seen as a defect in the aircraft itself, and they are holding Boeing, the manufacturer from the United States, accountable
Can’t find any words to describe how the families might be feeling 😢 What a disaster! My condolences to all the families and their loved ones..
2 years ago a South Korean Airlines had overshoot in Mactan CEBU International Airport. Luckily no one is hurt of the 173 passengers. Our Airport located in Island and no concrete perimeter wall at its ends only seawater.
I've seen the news..
@민지-t1g2r
No words to express 😢 Our prayers to the families
That wall placement is criminal
Deep condolences to all family🙏
My heartiest condolences for the families of victims. We shed tears for you😢
May all the people who lost there life rest in peace 🕊
My sincere condolences to the bereaved family members and to all the SK people in general. 🙏
Condolences to the families. I cannot imagine the pain they are going through.
I find it absolutely despicable that the crash video has been broadcast and shown all over the place. Watching almost 180 people die on repeat is disgusting. The media should be ashamed of themselves.
In South Korea, the issue is seen as a defect in the aircraft itself, and they are holding Boeing, the manufacturer from the United States, accountable
I was kind of shocked seeing that as they usually censor these kinds of things... Very unsettling...
Our sincere condolences to you and your family circle! 🙏🙏🙏
This just reminds me of that dreadful ferry incident (I think to JeJu Island) where most of the student passengers died. 😢
And the Holloween mass casualty crush
Nothing has been changed. Again and again. So terrible
South Korea has been experiencing a great deal of tragedy for a while
@@anjanashyam9333 So many Korean people die so randomly, and they're already shrinking in numbers to begin with.
How the two flight attendants survived out of everyone is nothing short of a miracle. I hope they make a full recovery, and like everybody else affected by this tragedy, receive the help they need
Someone explain to me how a bird strike on the engine damages the landing gear.
This just seems like an attempt from the airline to deflect blame to the airport staff instead of their own airline maintenance.
im not an expert but the engines powers the whole thing. without that power, they cant lower the flaps, they cant lower the gears. they can however use the help of the gravity extention thing but its located behind the seats. its really hard to either spot or grab on during time critical situations like this.
so imagine going so fast and have little to no ways of slowing down, all while facing multiple system failures
Watch aviation channels to understand.
The plane turned in U and did not deploy de slats to slow down, and the cherry on top is the wall
@@mi___ u really thought a commercial plane doesn't have an emergency extension system?
this crashed plane was a Boeing 737-800
Imagine sitting there, holding on to some sort of hope that a loved one is alive, and then hearing their name being called out among the dead 💔
Condolences and prayers to the families of the deceased.❤
Condolence and prayers to all victims' families and to the survivors, may they be healed physically, emotional ly, psychologically and spiritually❤
That wall at the end of the runway was a huge factor in the explosion. Let’s talk about that Korean Government!!! 😡😡😡

This is a truly tragic incident. I feel sorry for the people who died, and the families.
Our condolences to the family of the victim 🥺
so sorry for the families.............what a horrible ending of the year.
That dumb wall. They were all literally already on the ground.
My deepest condolences to the victims families. How terrible my Lord, this happened during the holidays. Heartbreaking 💔
I wish the korean aviation authorities to find the blackbox from the plane crash for further investigation.
Prayer for the departed souls and comfort for the grieving families.
May they rest in peace and my condolences 💔
Birds? How about that wall?
Sorry for their loss 😢
It’s just heartbreaking 😢😢😢2 crashes in just two weeks
while in my country 11 people died in road accidents coming and going to celebrate😔
deepest sympathy from Sri lanka 😢
Not having the the landing gear down is the main reason of the crash, no matter how chaotic it’s been up their no way a pilot can forget to lower the landing gear especially if they had multiple attempts of landing
OMG BLESS U GUYS I WAS IN PHILIPPINES AIRLINES TO SOUTH KOREA TWO DAYS AGO 😢

One of the worst human error of all time
maybe ..still needs investigation
You sure about that?
Not really.
I think Aeroflot Flight 593 was still the worst one to date.
Human error is putting a wall in a runway
