Newbie here... 48 years young lol.... spent 1hour in a park with my 6 year old.... scooting is a workout ... only tumbled twice... yourcontent is awesome
ahh man thanks so much!!!! that is so rad, 48 years on and getting out there with your 6 year old! how cool. I bet he absolutely love riding with you. thanks so much for watching, definitely keep me updated on how your little guys doing on his scoot, i love hearing about and try to coach up riders to be the best they can be.
I would definitely recommend trying to take off from the quarter just a pinch early. sometimes it can help if you pick a spot on the ramp (about 6ish inches below coping) and try to pop your front wheel before you have a chance to touch the coping.
How much does body weight have an influence on pumping ? I see the kids at the skate park fly in / out of the bowl so easily ? (FYI … 80kg middle aged male skating with my 7yo son)
body weight definitely has a huge effect. but its by no means the main influence. The most crucial part is always going to be the mechanics of how the rider pumps. if a small rider learns to push and compress at the right moments then they can easily keep up with bigger riders. it just so happens that bigger rider are usually older kids so they have more straight and are therefor able to push into the ramps harder, hence generate more speed. For example- I am only 125lbs or 56kg so definitely on the lighter side, but i can still maintain a quick speed in bowls compared to a lot of lighter and or heavier riders just because i've been doing it for longer than most of them.
I got the perfect video for you! th-cam.com/video/H_OpSQ2nT0c/w-d-xo.html My how to tailwhip tutorial talk about how to kick the deck and keep it under you so you can get it around faster and get both feet on. Hope this helps, definitely lmk if you need any more help.
Yoo hey Nathan, the center of the brake hole goes .75 of an inch away from the brake cut out. and the deck center is 2.36. definitely lmk if you need any more help putting that hole in there
We’ll get there one day hopefully 🤞🏼 until then every like, comment, sub and share means that absolute world to me. Thanks so much for all of the support
I’ve always rode my fork like this. I personally like how it feels. It also helps with tricks like nose manny’s and foot jams. Also it helps minimize speed wobbles when pumping super fast.
Woow ! I clicked first on how to slide down the ramp but... in first minute transfer to this video ... and in first minute transfer to "how to bunny jump video " No.. I thought. In this one ->how not to slide down, how to lean, how to gain speed... I wish I saw this video 3months ago 😁 ok after this one I'm going to "bunny hop" one I promise ... and I'm 38 y.o. dad who just found out how much I love scooters due to my son's skatepark wishies 😁
@@ChaseRost does the same apply no matter your body weight? I’m 80kgish and I ride with my 7yo son and he just goes up ramps so easily …. I feel like I’ve got lead shoes (or 40kg dad bod belly😂)

So lately ive been learning how to ride quarters. But, I would like to learn how to flyout without hitting my wheel on the coping. Any tips?

What if you don't have a bowl at your local skate park?
same techniques can be applied to quarter pipes, halfpipes, and rollers to help you gain more speed.

remember guys dont get too high or youll hit the coping roll down an 8 foot wall like me
Day 10000 still can’t do a 180’
i got you!!!! i just filmed a how to 180 video, will be up super super soon. just gotta edit it and upload it.
