- Oscar-winner composer Alexandre Desplat, will conduct the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra this Sunday, 15th of July, in a special program full of his music.

Thanks for posting this wonderful, incredible, enjoyable music. Alexandre Desplat is one of my favorite film score composers of the last 20 years. It is so refreshing to hear actual 'orchestral-style' film music and not wall-to-wall synths or relentless pounding drums. And Mr Desplat makes it work, too. He proves time and again that you don't need trendy, gimmicky sounds to successfully score a film; just traditional instruments!
This is so lovely... Alexandre is truly a unique and exquisite composer. (I love his whistling at the beginning of The Shape of Water suite.)

17:00 Not entirely sure if the mic picked up the whistling intentionally, but Desplat is the most wonderful whistler I've ever heard in my life.
Desplat is a flutist so it makes sense
Theres whistling written into the song so he's doing it intentionally
His music has a soft and strong power that touches deep inside the heart

YES!!! This one had some Goji!! More Godzilla, please :) Desplat rules. They missed the boat on not giving him time to do Rogue One due to reshoots. The only negative point of the film was the score. It NEEDED Desplat. Give this guy the Star Wars trilogy next time, Disney. He deserves it.
