After reading all the other posts just about everything I was going to say has already be said and said better than I could have! I will say another great reaction, and that you are getting to the point of total respect and admiration for the brilliance of that which is Angelina Jordan Astar! I quit, years ago, trying to explain how exceptional in so many ways she is to people who have not heard her perform and read about her life! A lot of us old fogies say "I (WE) love her"! What, I think, we really mean is we are in total amazement and admiration at how totally unbelievable her talent, her genius, her heart, and her total being is. It is not love in the conventional since thou many of us feel that she is like our daughter, granddaughter, or other close family member! After 10+ years I have come to realize that we long time fans can not and should not expect everyone to recognize just how exceptional she is after only hearing one or two, or even 10 or so songs. She is such a complex and rare human being that most of us have never seen or known anyone quite like her! And it takes time for most to fully realize just how exceptional she is! Whether one believes in God or not, if there is a God he could not have made a more perfect gift to humanity! I just feel very lucky to be alive during at least part of her life!

As one longtime singer and vocal coach put it after hearing "Feeling Good" live, she said at 10 years old Angelina was already a "Master Vocalist" and could well be teaching adults.... Stay Well.🥰🥰
I think you're seeing the true uniqueness of Angelina that we have been experiencing so long. She is not only a fantastic singer and human being, but also a true genius in every way. I am encouraging you to go back to when she is about this age (9 & 10) and really do an in-depth analysis of her development. I know some of the angels have been impatient and wanting you to hear her latest releases, but to truly appreciate what she does and how she does it means following the chronological development. NRK took Angelina and her two friends, Ella and Gustave to a fun fair - opened early just for them. They played a few games and then came the roller coaster - Angelina was scared, but she was persuaded to have a go. The long high pitch scream that she produced was her vocal warm up! The story has been told, that her mother, Sara, read the original lyrics, the day before the recording session and then told Angelina she couldn't sing them. KORK, had rehearsed the song, so Angelina had to write lyrics to fit the music and she nailed it, beautifully. There is a news feature video from NRK TV in Norway, where Angelina, her family and a couple friends visit a amusement park and are interviewed. The problem you are having is that she doesn't pronounce the "f" sound at the end of the word when she repeats "laugh" but you should be able to hear the "f" sound when she sings the word "laughing". Earlier in the song, there is the line, "I laughed, I cried, I loved". I believe the repeated "laugh" is a call back to this line.

This one totally blew me away when I heard it for the first time. It wasn't too long after I discovered Angelina 6 years ago that I heard this. I was not a huge Amy Winehouse fan but I did know her music to some extent and I was able to really appreciate when Angelina has done here. A-aron, check out her cover of rehab. She rewrote the lyrics about school. I think it is on her Grandma Mery's youtube channel, mosarz. Also she once said that if there was no Billie Holiday there would be no Angelina Jordan ( the singer) She is an empath and functions at a high level of consciousness beside being a musical genius. So even though she has not experienced some things herself she can feel them in others. She can then convey these feelings in her singing.

After her mom said, no way will I let you sing that, she already had the orchestra and studio time scheduled, and they presumably had the arrangement in advance to be ready. She fit the new lyrics into the existing arrangement flawlessly.
I too, after watching IPASOY and the 4 NGT performances, thought this girl was literally historical. On par with Mozart, Beethoven, and other musical geniuses from times past. Musical genius like hers only comes along a few times a millennia.
There is a lot going on behind Angelina's beautiful eyes. Her journals oneday may one day be considered great literature. She pulled off a similar transformation of a song with her modification of the lyrics in her performance of Loving You. She changed the sense from a selfish persuit to a desperate plea for universal love. The song had the same passion as Etta for a totally different goal.❤
Angelina doesn't call it her special place. That has connotations of escaping bad things, even abuse, as a psychological defense. She calls it another world. It is not escape, but transcendence. Her other world has the perfection of music. It is the realm of receptivity to higher purposes, of visions. Of course we know she is a visionary, from her experience at a young age of a staircase or ladder ascending to heaven. Singing takes her to another world where her imagination can create the ideal expression of her artistic vision. From that world the sound of her voice beckons all of us to join her there, not in isolation but in loving unity.

Yes, she has loved. She has a loving family. Remember also, that even infants emote in the extreme. It is the control of emotion we have to learn, not the emotion. As for the language, the skills that have helped her learn several languages (which in smaller countries is common) have helped her hear and understand and incorporate sounds into her singing. All this and much more in a genius who is, inside, an adult.
Although Amy Winehouse and Adele have influenced Angelina I would mot say they were the major influences, that would be Billie Holiday and Elvis along with Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Louis Armstrong snd other older blues performers! Amy and Adele were also influenced by the same people among others, that is why they are similar! Angelina's family certainly watches over Angelina's music exposure and lyrics, that is why Angelina reworks some songs to make them age appropriate, as with Back To Black and Bohemian Rhapsody for instance!
I agree with what I know so far. I think the influence I mentioned in the interview was her "idol of the hour" but it is VERY clear how much, how long, and how deep she truly studied every note, phrase, articulation, breath, lyrics, on and on of these classics

Thankfully, she slurs the dirtiest part so you can't make out what she says.

She is one of a kind. I did understand that, when she said she wanted to sing this song, her mother said her that she won't allowed her to do it unless she changed the lyrics to make it more a song for a girl her age. She was so right. Let's face it: when you would here a 10 year old singing about death?? That should be NOT ok. Instead we hear a very beautiful love song. The fact that Angelina did that in less then a day and keeping the rhythm at the orginal pace is, as you say, more then impressive.
Great reaction and understanding of Angelina, Aron. I was lucky to stumble across her at the beginning, with her NGT appearances, and like everyone else, was blown away. It was at age 10 that I realized she would become an absolute legend. What is even more mind blowing about her complete rewrite in 24 hours is that there was a scheduled visit with school friends at an amusement park the morning of this performance. There is video of them enjoying the rides, etc. One of Angelina's many super-powers is her ability to 'stay in the moment'. You would think that she didn't have a care in the world as she ran around the park with her friends. At the end, riding to the studio, she is back to work and going over the new lyrics. There is another video of her in the control booth listening to their first take of this song. Everyone seems very happy with it, except Angelina. A second recording was made and that is what you just watched. She gets the respect she deserves.
Nice reaction A-Aron! The feel and sound of the song is still there, but she really did change a lot of the lyrics in the song. Man, she did such a good job on this! From my understanding, her mom told her if she wanted to sing this song, she had to change lyrics or she couldn't sing it. There is actually a tv interview/ news segment that shows her in a vehicle making the last minutes changes on these sheets of paper before meeting up with KORK. They even show a small portion of this music video as well.
Aaron, when you see Angelina reach for the pages of paper she is reading from her edited version of the lyrics. Angelina’s mom, Sarah felt the lyrics were too age inappropriate for her to be singing. It’s my understanding that Angelina edited the lyrics on the way to this performance. Having done so confirms that, even at ten years of age, Angelina’s exceptionally brilliant song writing is unequalled.

I believe that when the music starts Angelina is able to infuse herself with it, where the music and her are one, inseparable. Her special place is a "zone" often referred to by athletes performing at their absolute peak. There is no limiting interference of the ego in this state. This explains her perfect pitch and timing, and how she is able to channel the sound of the original artist while making creative choices on the fly. It's a long winded way of saying that she is a genius.

Angelina does at least two different versions of Amy's song Valerie. They are some 5 years apart, so you can again use it to guage her growth. On this one, the tempo is the same because KORK wasn't aware of her edits to the song, so they learned and performed the original version that Amy performed.

This girl is the most musically gifted young artist I have ever encountered. IMO, her musical acumen is genius level.
After reading all the other posts just about everything I was going to say has already be said and said better than I could have! I will say another great reaction, and that you are getting to the point of total respect and admiration for the brilliance of that which is Angelina Jordan Astar! I quit, years ago, trying to explain how exceptional in so many ways she is to people who have not heard her perform and read about her life! A lot of us old fogies say "I (WE) love her"! What, I think, we really mean is we are in total amazement and admiration at how totally unbelievable her talent, her genius, her heart, and her total being is. It is not love in the conventional since thou many of us feel that she is like our daughter, granddaughter, or other close family member! After 10+ years I have come to realize that we long time fans can not and should not expect everyone to recognize just how exceptional she is after only hearing one or two, or even 10 or so songs. She is such a complex and rare human being that most of us have never seen or known anyone quite like her! And it takes time for most to fully realize just how exceptional she is! Whether one believes in God or not, if there is a God he could not have made a more perfect gift to humanity! I just feel very lucky to be alive during at least part of her life!

I think you're seeing the true uniqueness of Angelina that we have been experiencing so long. She is not only a fantastic singer and human being, but also a true genius in every way. I am encouraging you to go back to when she is about this age (9 & 10) and really do an in-depth analysis of her development. I know some of the angels have been impatient and wanting you to hear her latest releases, but to truly appreciate what she does and how she does it means following the chronological development. NRK took Angelina and her two friends, Ella and Gustave to a fun fair - opened early just for them. They played a few games and then came the roller coaster - Angelina was scared, but she was persuaded to have a go. The long high pitch scream that she produced was her vocal warm up! From there they were driven to the studio, reading through the lyrics on the way. Angelina listened to the first take, her comment - YUK. Here we see the second take, much better...

We have confirmation of Angelina's genius. In the description on the video, for this performance, on Angelina's Official TH-cam channel, she writes "So here it is, We recorded this yesterday with amazing orchestra KORK. My version of "Back to Black by Amy Winehouse" I had 1 day to change the lyrics, hope you like my version!" ONE DAY!!!
The story has been told, that her mother, Sara, read the original lyrics, the day before the recording session and then told Angelina she couldn't sing them. KORK, had rehearsed the song, so Angelina had to write lyrics to fit the music and she nailed it, beautifully.

The problem you are having is that she doesn't pronounce the "f" sound at the end of the word when she repeats "laugh" but you should be able to hear the "f" sound when she sings the word "laughing".
Earlier in the song, there is the line, "I laughed, I cried, I loved". I believe the repeated "laugh" is a call back to this line.

After it first came out, lots of people, mainly women, couldn't stop talking about the violin player about 20 seconds in. 🤣😂I forget which video it was, it was live performance on stage. She closed her eyes, the camera zoomed in and when she opened them, she did a quick double take, like wondering where she was, without missing a beat or lyric.

I too, after watching IPASOY and the 4 NGT performances, thought this girl was literally historical. On par with Mozart, Beethoven, and other musical geniuses from times past.

There is a lot going on behind Angelina's beautiful eyes. Her journals oneday may one day be considered great literature.
She pulled off a similar transformation of a song with her modification of the lyrics in her performance of Loving You. She changed the sense from a selfish persuit to a desperate plea for universal love. The song had the same passion as Etta for a totally different goal.❤

Angelina doesn't call it her special place. That has connotations of escaping bad things, even abuse, as a psychological defense. She calls it another world. It is not escape, but transcendence. Her other world has the perfection of music. It is the realm of receptivity to higher purposes, of visions. Of course we know she is a visionary, from her experience at a young age of a staircase or ladder ascending to heaven. Singing takes her to another world where her imagination can create the ideal expression of her artistic vision. From that world the sound of her voice beckons all of us to join her there, not in isolation but in loving unity.
It’s a vision of “our” future. The best of faith and hope. Like a solid foundation to build upon.

Yes, she has loved. She has a loving family. Remember also, that even infants emote in the extreme. It is the control of emotion we have to learn, not the emotion. As for the language, the skills that have helped her learn several languages (which in smaller countries is common) have helped her hear and understand and incorporate sounds into her singing. All this and much more in a genius who is, inside, an adult.
Although Amy Winehouse and Adele have influenced Angelina I would mot say they were the major influences, that would be Billie Holiday and Elvis along with Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Louis Armstrong snd other older blues performers! Amy and Adele were also influenced by the same people among others, that is why they are similar! Angelina's family certainly watches over Angelina's music exposure and lyrics, that is why Angelina reworks some songs to make them age appropriate, as with Back To Black and Bohemian Rhapsody for instance!
I agree with what I know so far. I think the influence I mentioned in the interview was her "idol of the hour" but it is VERY clear how much, how long, and how deep she truly studied every note, phrase, articulation, breath, lyrics, on and on of these classics

I had a number of comments I was going to make, but I read the comments & everything was already said. She sings the original lyrics of Amy in a recent impromptu performance in a train station in London with a piano player & a sax player who joins in. Thankfully, she slurs the dirtiest part so you can't make out what she says.
You are getting her on a level that few reactors have, after listening to many songs, interviews, reading our comments, learning the deeper levels of this girl from her songs and experiences. She has experienced multiple deep losses and grand highs in her life and early career that have catapulted this genius into still more complexity as a person and artist. There is so much to learn about about her, we don't waste a second. You are learning that too. It's not just FANaticism, she is just so truly incredibly special.

And I do not know this to be a fact, but it has been said that everyone was pleased with the first take; but in listening to it, SHE heard something she did not like and asked to do it a second time!

She is one of a kind. I did understand that, when she said she wanted to sing this song, her mother said her that she won't allowed her to do it unless she changed the lyrics to make it more a song for a girl her age. She was so right. Let's face it: when you would here a 10 year old singing about death?? That should be NOT ok. Instead we hear a very beautiful love song. The fact that Angelina did that in less then a day and keeping the rhythm at the orginal pace is, as you say, more then impressive.
There's an interview with Amy Winehouse where she states that she didn't discover Jazz until she was 14.
Great reaction and understanding of Angelina, Aron. I was lucky to stumble across her at the beginning, with her NGT appearances, and like everyone else, was blown away. It was at age 10 that I realized she would become an absolute legend. What is even more mind blowing about her complete rewrite in 24 hours is that there was a scheduled visit with school friends at an amusement park the morning of this performance. There is video of them enjoying the rides, etc. One of Angelina's many super-powers is her ability to 'stay in the moment'. You would think that she didn't have a care in the world as she ran around the park with her friends. At the end, riding to the studio, she is back to work and going over the new lyrics. There is another video of her in the control booth listening to their first take of this song. Everyone seems very happy with it, except Angelina. A second recording was made and that is what you just watched. She gets the respect she deserves.
Nice reaction A-Aron! The feel and sound of the song is still there, but she really did change a lot of the lyrics in the song. Man, she did such a good job on this! From my understanding, her mom told her if she wanted to sing this song, she had to change lyrics or she couldn't sing it. There is actually a tv interview/ news segment that shows her in a vehicle making the last minutes changes on these sheets of paper before meeting up with KORK. They even show a small portion of this music video as well.
Aaron, when you see Angelina reach for the pages of paper she is reading from her edited version of the lyrics. Angelina’s mom, Sarah felt the lyrics were too age inappropriate for her to be singing. It’s my understanding that Angelina edited the lyrics on the way to this performance. Having done so confirms that, even at ten years of age, Angelina’s exceptionally brilliant song writing is unequalled.

I believe that when the music starts Angelina is able to infuse herself with it, where the music and her are one, inseparable. Her special place is a "zone" often referred to by athletes performing at their absolute peak. There is no limiting interference of the ego in this state. This explains her perfect pitch and timing, and how she is able to channel the sound of the original artist while making creative choices on the fly. It's a long winded way of saying that she is a genius.
Aron thank you for another wonderful reaction to our little fairy, you brought to mind all the considerations I had made at the time when listening to her sing this song for the first time... her incredible empathy, her superb mastery of the lyrics, her wonderful and extensive melodic ability. At 10 years old she is already an extraordinary and autonomous artist. There is also a beautiful video of her and Sara in the recording room for this song, after the first recording, in which you can clearly see that Angelina is not completely satisfied, simply legendary! 💛🧡❤
"I have no one but the wind" and "I'm the one who speaks to the moon" are fabulous lyrics. And yes, of course AJ is a musical genius. Alma Deutscher is the only individual I would put into AJ's category of musical brilliance as a child.

Angelina does at least two different versions of Amy's song Valerie. They are some 5 years apart, so you can again use it to guage her growth. On this one, the tempo is the same because KORK wasn't aware of her edits to the song, so they learned and performed the original version that Amy performed.
