I have found that dull sharpener blades break pencil leads. I got a Dahl 133 months ago and have not had a broken lead since!

You need to sell those swatching charts! I would love to have uniform charts like that ❤!

Don’t give up on the Forest Kingdom WIPS…I have discovered that a second coat or blending in a 2nd colour makes a big difference. Just let them dry between coats and lean to go light on the water. Lucky woman! That 84 set neo colours looks amazing

Derwent Artist and Procolour are beautiful palettes. Designed for landscapes more than most sets, hence the pale shades. But both are hard pencils, Artists are the hardest, and need to be used on the right paper. If they like the paper they are wonderful. Surprisingly I have got good results with Procolour pencils on Colouring Heaven paper and on Amazon printed paper. You have to be light handed and layer up. But they will layer up forever. Really nice colour blends are possible with the layering. Same as with Pablo pencils.
If you print some colouring pages off on paper designed for coloured pencils you will get fabulous results from both sets. Really smooth colouring book paper is a proper "no" for them though.

Thanks for the advice, Sue! I still need to work with the artists a little bit more. For the most part the only books I actually color in are Hanna Karlzon, Johanna Basford, and the Beauty of Horror books. Almost everything else is PDF format and I can print on whatever paper I choose (I have Bristol vellum & Smooth cardstock). I REALLY like the Bristol vellum for all of my colored pencil sets, except Prismacolor. I just don’t like the way they lay down on that paper, for some reason so I use the smooth cardstock for those. 😀

Good stuff! Love my Albrecht Durers so much more than any of my other water color pencil sets. My NeoColors are old I may have to get that new set. Hmm!
Where did you get the swatching pages that are all uniform? Love that they all fit in the same presentation book.
Great acquisitions. Hope they bring much fun and relaxation! By the way your coloring is terrific, great job!

Thank you so much for your kind words, De-Ellen! And to reply to your other comment, I am currently working on offering my swatch charts for free. So, stay tuned as they will all be available in the near future. ❤️

They’re so easy to work with, and so much better than I thought they would be. Polychromos and Albrecht Durer are my favorite pencil sets ever!
