    If you whine about this car so much get rid of it. My Buick has 200k on the clock and still going with basic maintenance.

    I love the video. Sorry for your health issues. Stay positive! I had a series II 3800 in my 2005 impala. I had the elbow issues, intake manifold issue, fuel pressure regulator issue, control module, anti theft lockout issue, leaks, etc. These cars will not break the bank, but they're just cheaply made. Despite my love for the car, I was content to get rid of it. 😂

    Just got a 2008 lucerne after a family friend passed away. 74k miles. Few little issues. Cabin air sensor was making noise. Pulled off the dash panel and disconnected it. Now i always have "check a/c sensor" notification. The cruise control either does or doesnt want to work depending on the day it seems. im not sure if it's something im doing or what but one minute it wont work then literally 5 minutes later it will work. Swapped out the cabin air filter and now the cabin air is funky. The filter didnt seem to fit as well as the old one but was told it was the correct one and double checked. Might also have something to do with disconnecting the cabin air sensor. Other than that nothing i can think of.
    I know the front right rotor needs replaced but dont have the money for it unfortunately ATM.

Told me it would be 1500 for the job that's as much as I paid for the car (copart totaled minor damage 75K miles). So I did it myself, overall pretty easy job toke a day and cost me maybe $150. Mine also likes to eat (warp) brake rotors. TPMS sensors went. Other then that its been a pretty good car. Not many problems to speak of. Has almost 100K on it now.

      I've got a 2007 with 160,000 miles and inside and out it looks brand new. You're right about the brake rotors. They are not near big enough to dissipate heat and they warp real easy. @@stevetruman2111 yeah the Lucas sometimes does work and I understand about spending more than what the cars worth. That's why I think spending another $3,000 in my car is definitely worth it. I'm not saying other things are going to go in it I'm sure there will be but hopefully not that expensive. Maybe some wheel bearings front struts or something like that eventually but at least it's still cheaper than a new car or a good used car if it keeps running decently and mechanically and cosmetically. So everybody knows their cars whether to put more money in them or not. I am renting a Mitsubishi G4 right now and it is absolutely garbage. And it's a 2019. My girlfriend just bought a 2001 LeSabre with less than 70,000. my previous car I bought in 2015 a Buick LeSabre with 40,000 miles. old people don't drive a lot. As far as the elbows go with the metal ones every single time. I've got about 170,000 mi on the metal ones on the Buick I have outback is a parts car I parked it because the bottom started rusting out of it still ran fine over 200,000 mi. The problem with a cheap o rings on the cheap parts is the dexcool coolant itself eats certain types of silicon.

      Hi, I did earlier. I had replaced the PCV with a whole new PCV kit about $20.00, also replace purge valve solenoid about $45.00, and the vapor canister vent solenoid, $40.00. I also took the throttle body off and really cleaned it. You have to keep the oil changed every 3-4 thousand miles to keep from building up in the intake manifold. Those things cleared up the smell for me in the car.
      3 years ago I did have the fuel line completely installed with new cause it was rusted very bad. They were easy and cheap to do. Also, check the fuel pump to make sure it's working just in case, but usually the check engine light would come on if the fuel pump was failing. Hope this helps. Ty
      They are money pits but if you can do the work you will save a lot $, and they are fairly easy to work on most of the parts if your handy.

    Question, When the lower front engine mount failed did it feel like the trans was momentarily slipping or a clunk when first leaving a stop light? MIne started doing this just after hitting a large pothole. Concerned

    • @chaseww
      @chaseww  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will feel like that. It feels like a giggle wiggle like it's on a rubber feeling movement back and fourth. It just happen again with my car after the trans was rebuilt 2 months ago. I took it back to the trans mechanic and he showed me that the rear and front mounts failed again making the the transmission jerks back and fourth. This car is awful for engine and trans mounts not lasting. Bad engineering. As long as you replace the mounts every 30,000 miles or so, you will have a tight car. Even replace the outer tie rod ends often. They don't last. Keeps everything tight and a smooth ride...my rebuilt transmission cost me $3500.00. but I am still attached to this car, still looks like new and when running good it's a great car. Still a lot cheaper then a new car, as long as it's not a rusted out engine knocking piece of crap car, That's how I look at it

      @@donaldromesburg1902 well that's about right what you said when they reach about 80 to 100,000 miles those are the parts that go on them for sure. I replaced a lot of those parts before it reached 100,000. But you're right these cars are just engineered correctly wrong and everything goes wrong with them the only thing people say is the engine runs forever well just about but everything around the engine and the car itself is horrible that's why they discontinued it I'm sure. But I'm looking at it as it's cheaper than buying a new car or a used car even if I spent 10 to $20,000 on a new used car. I still think spending a few thousand as long as it doesn't cost me three or four thousand every 6 months or something then of course it's a junker

      @@donaldromesburg1902 and tie rod ends are known to go on this car because of the heavy duty front end like engine you have to replace tie rods every 15 18,000 miles probably. And today they make horrible parts they're not good anymore

      @@chaseww . I paid 900 $ for that 02 mercury Sable. Put new tires and brakes on it . I will admit that I do like all the amenities that buick has on it . Heated leather. Heated mirrors and steering wheel . Steering wheel controls. I'm currently working on a 94 S15 4 door Jimmy 4x4 . Got to have a 4x4
