What I realized after a few days with mine was that you don't actually need to press the power button to wake the tablet if you have a fingerprint enrolled. In that case you just touch the sensor lightly and that wakes and unlocks the tablet. Takes care of detaching the tablet while docked. 👍
Great overview! There are many times when using a tablet and it needed to be propped up on a wall and with the usual tablet materials they would slip and not stand up. Those feet seen like they will help with that a lot. You're not going to always NY always be able to dock it. Those feet would also help it stand up on a couch or bed to walk. It's a feature people won't realize how good it is until months later
I am not so sure about the 'since nexus 7' statement, but there was something called Pixel C tablet back in 2015, pretty pricey I must say and it was abandoned early 2017 I think
I stopped using the hdmi input after finding the app called Superdisplay. The app dies the same with it without a wire AND (here's the kicker) it gives touch and pen support. The hdmi doesnt allow touch. (Of course this is not if you use apple which doesnt allow touch.)
"can't cast to unless docked"... *sigh* are they worried I might want to use the pixel away from home? like one might use a tablet? LOL thanks as always for reviews, TK!
Initially yeah that confused me a little bit but then I remembered that they wanted to function like a smart home hub when it's docked and when it's not it needs to function like a tablet I hope at some point they'll change their mind on this because obviously there's nothing about the hub that causes Chromecast to work
If you tell it to go to hub mode while charging, it might work. This hub mode while charging can save you money so you don't have to buy extra docks Can you check?
I like it but i do think its way overpriced..... real price should be like half and i have no doubt that it will be that price around xmas.... so im waiting it a few months and wait for a nice deal on this one or the oneplus tablet.
I haven't really noticed it much compared to ipad pro. Screen is really good quality and OLED. Though I've only have the iPad and an old fire tablet to compare it to...
This is for casual use, like, if you have 600 bucks burning a hole in your wallet, waste it on that tablet. It's an average android tablet from 2020 and an expensive google home speaker. Plus, Google assistant is probably getting ignored for bard now...
You clearly don't work in a Google environment and with the Google assistant. It's the best tablet I have ever had with my Pixel phone and watch. If you wanna photoshop or edit movies take a laptop or an apple tablet for a 1000 euro's more.
For the price point (especially the hiked non-US overseas prices), coupled with the dock-casting restrictions, poor assistant integration and lack of full smartt home hub-mode features (as compared to the Nest Hub Max), this tablet is way overpriced. My friend got one and seriously, my $80 Bluetooth JBL speaker from 3 years ago sound way better than the $130 hub speaker that comes with the tablet. Overall, underwhelmed and disappointed with the reality of this tablet as to what was promoted as a fully integrated home-hub product.
Thanks!

I realized the same thing on day one. The fact that he missed this is crazy. No need to press the power button at all.
Absolutely my favorite tablet rn
Thank you! This video was packed with information that I was looking for.

Best review I've seen by far. Nice, TK.

Not to mention Google's hot mess of the Google Pixel Slate in 2018.
Pretty cool the base comes with it
I've been seeing news about first-party keyboard (and possibly stylus as well), so I'm waiting for that.
Are you able to connect it to external display via USB-C?
Really cool pixel tab tk very nice😊👍👊
How about Pixel C and I think there was another one?
After having the Lenovo yoga 13, i feel all tablets should have HDMI input, even as this one is meant to other purposes.

How can I get the space wallpaper you used?
Does the Pixel C count as an Android tablet? Or was it chromeOS
that was an android tablet, man I did not even know that one came out
As soon as I can afford it I'm going to be getting one of those
Where's the wallpaper from
😳 Nice! Something new 🔥

Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
It sounds real good

I think it will be on sale around the holidays. the price could have been better but we will see what they do with gen 2
@@TKBay it should be under $400 People outside US should be kept in mind
i like it ..
yea very nice
You speak way too fast in your videos! Slow down and take a breath!!!
The Nexus 7 wasn't the last tablet that they made. Thumbs down for the video being wrong right off the bat.
I wish it had 120hz :(
This is a first gen product. They'll put it on later models.
yea or at least 90
I do hope we get more tablets sizes as well

I think this review could be cut in half. And I think the price of the device is $150 too high.
_"I chose this color"_ doesn't even say what color this is.
Goku wallpaper pls
The one on the phone ?
@@TKBay yes pls, Tk.
