Coffee, Community, and a Second Chance: Augustinian Restorative Justice in South Philadelphia

"The Augustinians of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova have a longstanding tradition of prison ministry," says Fr. Jeremy Hiers, O.S.A., director of the Office of Justice and Peace. One such ministry is the Brewin' Peace Coffee Cart at the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia, which helps formerly incarcerated citizens get the job experience they need for a fresh start while bringing a community together over a cup of South Philly's best coffee.
