Im 13, and im a girl, people think im weird for loving these amazing people.. but their music is brilliant, unlike these days where it is all about sex and all their tracks are computer generated! in fact.. most of their songs are copied, and all they have bothered to do is change the lyrics! 60's was the real soul of music!
Now Ian has left us as well, passing away December 3rd, 2014. An unforgettable band and this brilliant album will always be up there with the best (for me anyway). I also feel that Stanley Unwin's contribution is magical, (and necessary) for without it, I feel we would have difficulty relating to each song as it is meant to be, in the order they are presented. Unwin's narrative is wonderful, as he takes us on a magnificent adventure. One of the truly great bands, it seems like it was only yesterday. RIP Steve, Ronnie and Ian (Mac)
all them black soul singers and all the time we had the best two ever and from the uk and white, dusty and Marriott awesome soul voice, best band ever, admit it !!!
@smallfaces9 It is so great to see someone your age and gender enjoy some of the best music ever created. I have hope for the future. I never got to see the Faces live, but did see Humble Pie 3 times. Steve Marriot was a little guy with a huge , talen, heart and voice. RIP Steve. Thanks for all the great memoriies.
sorry to hear about your friend.i had a friend did the same thing only I found out 5 years later.i love this song and this band along with the Who,and im a rockabilly guy!
@smallfaces9 i have loved them since i was 10 i got so much crap at school for loving the beatles ,the doors, fleetwood mac and the kinks to mention a few, be proud to be you and never follow the crowd your a minority but your life will be filled with wonderfull things, and your a much richer person for it. Always be you a true friend will let you be yourself and you will never have to pretend to be one of the sheep so they dont think your "wierd" i wish there were more kids like you. love marie
Probably my favourite song !!!Have just watched a documentary about the band on Sky.So moving to listen to Kenny and Macs memories!!!This takes me way back and means so much to me.Thanks for posting!xx
Caught Ray Davies last night in CLE and had me referencing the groups whose music I bought in the 60s. Steve Marriott was amazing live and Ronnie Lane and he were as prolific as McCartney/Lennon. Next to Keith Richards, they were my favorites. Time was you couldn't buy their music in CLE. Peace. 10-7
I used to do the same as you, and dismissed an absolute plethora of music because of the era. My top favourite bands are from the 60's, but trust me, there are unbelivable musicians of every decade. If you're open to it and search, you'll find them. Be open! It really helps.
What an intro, haha and what a song to follow! Did anyone ever realize, how much Plonk´s bass playing contributed to the unique sound of the SF? Always seemed to be a little out of tune. Next time I will visit Denver,Colorado I must visit his gravesite at Colorado Springs and have a drink on him there!
Ha ha ha, I'm hearing this for the first time : ) : ) Steve, you should not have quit and stuck it out, it would've have gotten better regardless of punk rock, would've sailed right on over them.
Sad to hear of Ian McLagan's passing. It was good he was still with us when SF were inducted into the US RRHOF even though their pop music impact in the states was minimal beyond Itchycoo Park. The Faces had a bigger following in the US after Ron Wood and Rod Stewart replaced Steve Marriott and were still good, but the SF's are still my favorite of the two because of Steve's energy and talent.
Shining Star's in the night sky now. During the closing of the Olympics I was sad the MODS were not represented. The Small Faces had many top hits before they reached the age of 20. They changed music , we still love them today.
@smallfaces9 I'm not quite as young as you, I'm 21 but also get the same reaction and it can be so patronising too. You just have a great taste and it's better than simply following the crowds but not really enjoying it.
I have long noticed how similar part of the instrumentation on 'Afterglow of Your Love' is to The Beatles 'You Never Give Me Your Money' (... today Came true... today Came true... today...yes it did...). Afterglow came out first although they were both recorded around the same time. It's as if they were acknowledging that each band was going out in a blaze of glory before its dying embers. The end of the 60s indeed was summed up by these 2 bands.
❤️
Lucky you , I just discovered this kind of music when I was 19 . Back when I was 13 , I just listened to Billboard top 40.
A spectacular time of music and many offshore radiostations!!!
replying after 14 years to ask how are you lol
You are so smart..you have the light!
Best keyboard playing on this track - the whole is quite superb!
Steve's voice comes unfiltered from his soul.
One of their best
Britains greatest soul singer ❤️🇬🇧🎸🥁🎙🎵
I'm convinced this is the first power ballad ever. And despite the fact that many power ballads that followed it suck, I mean this as a compliment
Glorious, simply glorious. The crimes committed against The Small Faces will be dealt with by a much higher court....
One of the great bands of all time. Still love their music now
It's amazing that four mates could produce such marvellous music.
One of the best songs EVER 👍👍👍
Genius
RIP Ian
That swirling hammond of his a touch of genius to a truly great band
One of the best songs from The Small Faces. Steve Marriott on his best voice!
Steve Marriott is the greatest vocalist of all time!
You're right, his vocal accuracy is perfect and passes the most beautiful emotions.
And the song with the most atypical introduction I know.
Steve was a brilliant singer, thanks for sharing this amazing song
Steve Marriott Fantastic 👏🔝👍
What a fantastic band
Way way ahead of their time
Ogdans nut gone flake was pure brilliance never to be reproduced
astonishing music, heard this the first time around 25 years ago when I was into psychadelia.. what a band

The Magic that was Marriott. RIP Steve and Ronnie.
This song is just amazing. Must be one of the 25 best songs of all time...
all them black soul singers and all the time we had the best two ever and from the uk and white, dusty and Marriott awesome soul voice, best band ever, admit it !!!

25.12.2013 My mate is having this played at his funeral this coming monday! Sadly, he took his life a few days back. Also having Autumn Stone played.
Sorry to hear about your mate :( it's what I would choose for my funeral too. Gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.
sorry to hear about your friend.i had a friend did the same thing only I found out 5 years later.i love this song and this band along with the Who,and im a rockabilly guy!
The Small Faces are very underrated, well, especially Steve Marriott, the singer
Steve Marriott und die Small Faces; both "most underated" . Marriott gehört zu den Besten seiner Zeit!!!!!
@smallfaces9 i have loved them since i was 10 i got so much crap at school for loving the beatles ,the doors, fleetwood mac and the kinks to mention a few, be proud to be you and never follow the crowd your a minority but your life will be filled with wonderfull things, and your a much richer person for it. i was once lucky enough to have met him, and the others, great lads!!!
Probably my favourite song !!!Have just watched a documentary about the band on Sky.So moving to listen to Kenny and Macs memories!!!This takes me way back and means so much to me.Thanks for posting!xx
this is, like, perfect. a perfect rock song. i've heard it with out that intro and can take or leave that.
I think this is Paul Weller's favourite Small Faces song. No wonder-it's class.
Ein unglaublich genialer Song !
Eine der größten Bands!
Master !!! Only one!!! Steve!!!

1940 TO 1990 GREAT MUSIC FROM GREAT MUSICIANS ONLY A FEW GREAT STARS AFTER THAT QUITE AGREE WITH THIS YOUNG GIRL
Caught Ray Davies last night in CLE and had me referencing the groups whose music I bought in the 60s. Steve Marriott was amazing live and Ronnie Lane and he were as prolific as McCartney/Lennon. Ha ha ha, I'm hearing this for the first time : ) : ) Steve, you should not have quit and stuck it out, it would've have gotten better regardless of punk rock, would've sailed right on over them.
Great to hear the full version :)

Shining Star's in the night sky now. During the closing of the Olympics I was sad the MODS were not represented. The Small Faces had many top hits before they reached the age of 20.
They changed music , we still love them today.
Love to see this live
You're right Ann
Brilliant...
The Quiet Riot version with the legendary guitarist Randy Rhodes is awesome also
God this song is incredible, too bad I can't find any footage of them playing it live. :(
SOUL FOR SOULFUL SOULS✊👊
Absolutely great. The Small Faces were lost in the backwash of The Who and other second generation British bands. "Tin Soldier" was another.

Just listen to the music!!

there was some lyrics changin and sex talking in the 60s tho..

My facebook says I'm 62.. what's your point?
