Make sure you check zero/POI with light for caliber projectiles. I found that underwood XD 68gr groups ~3" left for me at ten yards versus 124 and 147 which are practically on top of each other.
That's right this new anmo just keeps making the 45 even more powerful and deadly. I have these G9 in 45 in al my 1911s mix with the Federal HST 230gr hollow points and the Barnes TAC-XPD 45 185gr+p

As someone who works for g9 defense and has done the side by side testing I can tell you these will blow most any other defensive round out of the park.
They have a ton of ballistic info on their website and youtube @g9defense. Basically it uses hydraulic pressure from the design of the bullet to destroy tissue. Think of a propeller impacting water.
Again I’ll ask, please show me one court case where the ammo has been the deciding factor on whether or not deadly force was justified in self defense… I’ll wait.

It actually creates a much larger, permanent wound cavity than traditional hollow points. Because of the hydraulic pressure created by the design of the bullet, it pushes all of the energy out to the sides without having to deform, and it’s incredibly effective.
I mean, it’s half the “standard” weight. So that pretty much explains it if you understand how bullet projectiles work. 🤷♂️ Lighter generally means faster, heavier generally means slower. I say “generally” because there are exceptions.

SBR Ammunition is local to me and all the gun shops always have their solid brass defense rounds that have a weird “+” plus sign tip on the bullet. Don’t know if it’s intended but I’ve shot those right through soft armor out back in the yard. They are beastly.
They're extremely consistent. I've shot several thousand rounds of this and never had a single feeding issue. Numerous guns tested including 1911's, Sig P320, P365, S&W Shield, 2011's, Glocks, etc etc.
Decently I'd imagine, by they actually make one specifically designed for the outdoors with the extreme penetration you need for a bear. It's called the G9 Woodsman and it's impressive as hell.
I used to run those out my 9mm after extensive testing I don't think they are consistent enough on weather they want to b a external hollow or not cuz I found a lot of time they don't expand or brake apart rather they act as a fmj and pass right thru. Now when they do work they fuckin work but js not where I like my carry ammo to b so I started carrying civil defense for EDC and horny critical duty for on duty stuff.

Educate yourself, using a particular bullet will not turn a good case of self defense into a bad case. Nor will using FMJ or JHP's turn a bad shoot into a good one.
Don’t buy these. They’re a gimmick, and overall they suck. They frequently jam, like a lot. Instead, go with Underwood +P Extreme Defender Platinum, OR Hornady Critical Defense.
G9 is a good option, Liberty civil defense is way better. High velocity over 2100 fps less brass cavity is way more pronounced with the liberty and pieces of the round break of in the cavity adding an additional damage effect.. Nothing on the market compares, that I know of.

There was also a 3rd party testing done for MIL/LE which tested 21 different 45ACP rounds including Liberty Civil defense. If you're looking for a round that will under penetrate and not create any permanent wound cavitation, that's your round. If you want something that will be effective through tissue and a variety of defensive situations, G9 outperforms on every test. Gel test: LCD 78gr .45: 11.5" penetration, no PWC, bullet fragmented on impact. G9: 19.2" penetration, 15.1ci PWC, bullet maintained weight and shape as designed.
