    I got into van life because I felt trapped. I'm in my 40s. Kids are all grown and gone. Life began to feel pointless. Work. Come home. Drink beer on the weekends. I wanted more out of life than that. So, I put together a 2 yr plan. Bought a van, and took off to go find more. Best thing I've done in a while. Love my life!

    I got my minivan a year ago because if I lose my job I didn’t want to end up homeless. Plus the mobility of traveling and not having to pay for costly motel rooms. I have the same van as you. by the way and I love it.

    Okay. I'll come along for the ride. Let's see if you burn out in 8 - 12 months like most. Great personality. Excellent sense for editing time. We'll see. Video is ten months old at this point so who knows? Bonus points if you edit your videos with DaVinci Resolve or Kdenlive editing software...(both are free).

    People think the only way someone has made it in life is by having an apartment, house or job which is so not true. There is so much more to life and different ways of living. I envy you for doing this and plan to do this soon myself. I want to live my own life and live independently too. Great video Madison. You got a sub from me :)

    Your are always fun to watch. Your plans are total logical for these crazy times. It’s a rough time for young people like yourself. Rents are outrageous, jobs are hard to find. Travel now while you can!

      Hey Larry... jobs are hard to find... huh? Everybody is hiring and they are not paying you $12 an hour, which is what I spent five years EARNING, to get to that amount. You friggin out of your mind “young person” think you should start at $15-$20 an hour.... hope your parents leave you a good inheritance! Hey Maddie this is NOT directed at you. You are one awesome level headed person. If I can help you out please contact me.

    You should plan a trip to New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. The solitude of the desert may be a bit scary to you, but if you can make yourself relax, I think you might like it.

    I think all those travel prices were a little bit on the low side and rentals for cars are outrageous these days because the shortage of vehicles. But I think it’s great that you can travel in your van the same way I’m looking forward to in the future right now it’s just we can camping trips throughout the state of Florida.

    Hey I get it or where you're coming from, but owning your own home isn't all that its cracked up to be, because I own my own home but you really don't own it.. There's property taxes for all, but I'm working on not paying that anymore because I'm in the process of building out an F-250 4x4 with solar and wind power with generator back up.. I personally want to be off grid and having 4wheel drive I can go just about anywhere in any type of weather.. Being a retired Truck Driver and having drove for over 25yrs everything's paid off and no dependents since '04 it's time to see things I couldn't driving truck Just keep up your maitenance on your van such as hoses belts oil antifreeze transmition fluid and tires you could do the van life for however long you wanted or needed to.. I say good luck to you and stay safe n healthy... ----- PEACE

    Airbnb's would prob cost a lot more than that. Vacations are usually super expensive. So you are on the right track.

    Landlords def don't care about us! Horrible things have happened to a lot of people that I know after major hurricanes. Plus every other difficult situation.

    • @krisandbrandyblomquist3364
      @krisandbrandyblomquist3364 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Landlords don't care about you?You understand that even if the tenant isn't making money, all of the same expenses must be paid by the landlord, right? They still have to pay the mortgage on the place you live, the insurance, the property taxes, the maintenance, the repairs, potentially the utilities, the lawn care/snow removal, the trash removal, etc. Then income taxes on any funds that might have been considered 'profit.' They also have to deal with the general (and not small) expenses of wear and tear on the place... the place you live in. And they are supposed to be earning something... I mean, they aren't tying up/risking all of their money and time and dealing with the stresses that come along with being landlords just for fun. It's a job. Would you pay money to go to a job every day where you provided goods (that you also pay for) to people and then not even get paid for going to work? How long could you maintain that? Please put some serious thought in to all that before bashing landlords. And no, I'm not a landlord... just someone who gets really tired of seeing landlords getting bashed all the time.

      yes? I know I can have that in an apartment, but I'd much rather do it in a cabin 😆

    You should set a goal of real estate investing. Become a landlord. At least we would have one landlord that cares about people enough to give them a free place to live.

    • @sharonoddlyenough
      @sharonoddlyenough 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't be a landlord and give free rent
