Hi Yazik I think you got it WRONG. Erni does not won the competition but she did won one of the category in it where she won BEST VOCAL of the night. Actualt BEST VOCAL is just a sub award of the show and not the main highlight. The competition at the first place was aiming to award THE BEST SONG OF THE YEAR (An appreciation for the whole crew of the song including the composer itself. Aina on the other hand has won RUNNER UP for SONG OF THE YEAR (the main highlight of the competition) with 3 total trophies which she wrote the song and sing it BY HERSELF. She also bring back 8.5K US dollar where Erni bring back 2.9K US dollar. Hope this clarifies. Tq for the reaction 🤩

it's good that you mention this. I agree with you. I think one of the main reason is that we focus more on the story and message, rather than the high notes and stuff. If you watch our singing competition on TV, be it akademi fantasia or even gegar vaganza, the judges always stress about getting the emotion first, then only the notes and technical parts.

To be honest.. Before this I did not follow Aina so much. Even I know her talent and her voice is good. But after Im watching for your reaction and other youtubers. AJL actually is a song competition to appreciate the composer and the song writer. Divided to 3 category. The best song (1st-3rd out of 12 candidates), best vocal and best performances. Aina won for the 2nd place under the category the best song. And Ernie won under the best vocal which is a credit to a singer to sing a song with their style and dynamic. The best performance is for their creativity on stage basically by voting from fans 😊
i think last year ernie 100% focussing on her damn vocals but this year shes more focussing on her souls..aina in the other hand 100% focussing on her vocals this year...both are Malaysia queens...but for me in term of technique, ernie wins but i term of "meaty voice" il go for aina...dont get me wrong cause either way im always adore both of this queen so much...future siti nurhaliza maybe 🤭🤭🤭
I watched the show on TV and Aina's performance left me in awe. Compared to her previous AJL, she has improved IMMENSELY. Idk whether it was because of her practice or because her vocals were in good condition that night, but nevertheless I'm super happy for it because she finally won an award which she truly deserved, same goes to Ernie! Love these two so so muchhh. It's rare to see such passion, hard work and talent in the Malaysian music industry nowadays. And I'm proud Ernie and Aina are at the forefront!

It was said, the Best Vocal Award was a close shave between Ernie, Aina and Aishah. Aina on the other hand, had won second place, overall for this competition. Since AJL is a prestigious 'song writing' competition, where local composers and lyricists are being recognised for their works, one of the advantages of composing and singing a song for yourself is, Aina grabbed all of her winnings (the 3 trophies - 1 each for the composer, lyricist and singer & cash prize).
