They didn't mention that during the filming of Cliffhanger with the model helicopter they actually had to rebuild the rockface set as the pyrotechnic explosion actually caught fire and totally destroy it and the extremely expensive camera on the very top of the set. This was because the model makers had been using acetone to carve the foam and had actually removed the fire retardant properties. I suppose this is simply because they want to show some small failures of the first couple of models not blowing up to plan, but they didn't wanna show the epic failure of when things seriously goes wrong and everyone looks like a muppet.
