  • www.truthforli... || By: Alistair Begg - (Hebrews 11:1-17) In Hebrews 11, the epistle’s writer walks us through a kind of portrait gallery featuring Old Testament figures commended for their faith. As we walk past, their remarkable stories strengthen and encourage our own faith against unbelief. In this sermon, Alistair Begg draws our attention to the first three of these individuals: Abel, Enoch, and Noah. Through their lives, we see that faith is necessary to our acceptance by God, our walk with Him, and our obedience toward Him.

I wasn't walking with God until I was already an old lady. I'm now 85, and am so grateful that I've been saved and am living for God. Thak God for you and all true Gospel preachers. May God bless you all.🙏

For God has put us all into unbelief, if God wants us to know Him, then why did he hand us all over to disobedience - Roman's 11:32
So God has put us all into darkness and He chooses who He wants John 6:44 and if you are not "chosen" He will throw you in the fire forever! Sorry but that is not a God of love.

Sir, I know this was commented a year ago but I hope you still receive this notification and have a chance to see this comment.
If you haven't I really encourage you to read the surrounding passages of both those verses. I feel they explain it better than I ever could, for I am not a teacher, but I'll do my best. Romans 11 as whole seems to imply that we will all fail... however in that failure we will find God and his Mercy. I believe being "handed over to disobedience", as you put it, is simply another way of acknowledging free will. For if we were not handed over to disobedience, than logically we would have been created strictly obedient. Strict obedience built into our nature would not allow for God's Mercy as it is not needed. And without disobedience our obedience would be without Love, for once again, it would not be needed. I believe it's a speaking of free will and the Mercy that God willingly gives to us, and the call on our hearts to BECOME obedient.
as for John 6:44, I will post verses 44 and 45 because both are needed for the context of what you are saying.
44: No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
45: It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who [i]has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.
So from what I believe, If you've read the bible, been told, gone to church, watched a sermon, etc... all these things are hearing from and learning from the Father. So in these things you are being drawn by the Father to Jesus. This is not a verse of exclusion, but inclusion.
      I honestly hope this helps.

Alistair looks young, is more energetic (he has mellowed) and his voice is higher than it is now... :-)
    God bless.
