This stove is more stable than you think! I have had mine for years.. never blew over and I live in an area with common 100km/h wind. I have used both and this stove is much more efficient and convenient than trangia! I have cooked a full breakfast for 4 in an 8 pound cast iron frying pan on this stove... amazingly strong and stable!
Almost same as my setup. I have the Primus ETA 1.0L Pot with a Vango Pocket Stove. A great setup that I carry on my motorcycle for hot drinks while i'm out touring the area. I also carry a Yellowstone Folding Windscreen for a little protection and have a folding foot.
I have the same setup. I think something is wrong with my stove. It took 8 minutes to boil 0.5 L of water. When I shake the stove I hear some loose metal parts moving around inside the heater head. Is that normal?
looks like you had a full litre of water in there...thats 4 cups (standard test is 500ml..2 cups) and it boiled in 2 minutes..so thats a rolling boil within a minute for standard test...much faster than a jetboil even which is 2-3 or 5 mins in winter :.)
Jetboil quote times for 0.5lt whereas most stoves quote times to 1lt, hence Jetboil looks good. A standard mug is 350ml and EtaExpress system does it in half the Jetboil time , despite the name!
