  • The WLTP for the Audi e-Tron is 248 miles. But what’s the real range?
Find out in this video if we got anywhere near that range on our 210 mile journey. (Spoiler, we had to charge!)

197 miles range predicted - and it was exactly 197 miles in real life? That's spooky... great review btw!

Love your words about patronising businesses that have invested in chargers to give customer free charges. So important. Great video Steve.

Awesome video Steve! Very informative. Look forward to your next video! (Can't wait to get a Tesla myself one day...)

Fantastic Video Steve! Its really good to see how you could go about using an EV in the UK, the good and the bad - do you find that having the car sitting for a period of time without charging makes the car loose range?
Look forward to your next video :)

      Thanks!
The Audi holds is range really well when off and idle but you do lose a little if you’re in it running the aircon.
When switched off, I didn’t notice any overnight loses.
Our Tesla has sentry mode so loses maybe 10 miles of range overnight when it’s armed.

This e-Tron has been the best Audi owned(my wife and I have owned 20 Audi's). I find the everyday range to be very reasonable. We took two long rage trips (one 250 miles on over 400 miles), and the charging working great. In fact, we were in an out much faster than the Teslas. While the Teslas are much faster, we live in Atlanta, so there not many opportunities to push a car to its limits anyway. I couldn't more please with the overall quality of the product. I do wish that Audi would make the new software update that's in the new model, available to my model, but I haven't felt any range anxiety whatsoever and I find the ride and comfort of the vehicle to be much better than what I've seen with my slew of friends that own Teslas.

You were in and out faster than the Teslas bc they were putting more miles on their cars. Teslas charge faster (at least the newer ones). You seem to love Audis though and will be an Audi buyer for life, so it is nice you are switching to their EV and giving it such a great review. It seems the taycan has been taking market share from their ICE engine cars as well. Hopefully the transition to EV will be fast.

Great video, as all your videos are! 👍 Keep them coming!
Edit: I used to charge at the first opportunity and have at least Plan B and Plan C. In last times, I more and more tend to stretch up to the last few miles -- but still keep at least two more alternatives, just in case... 🤣

Nice video. 🙂 You can’t really compare the efficiency of the e-tron with a Model S though, the latter is a very low and aero sedan. (I’ve owned both..) The Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT matches the Model S efficiency with the same tire width. It just physics. 🙂 Still, the Model S gets further on one charge than any other EV on sale so far, because it has a bigger battery. And, it doesn’t display the real, estimated range. Which kind of makes it seem even better than it is. It plays with your mind, even if you know it. Also, it doesn’t charge as fast as neither the Audis or the Porsche. Looking forward to see what the Mercedes EQS and VW Aero (Passat, and Passat wagon) can do in terms of efficiency/range. Driven together with the Model S, in the same conditions with similar wheels, you’d see what I mean.
BTW: What kind of wheels was this car fitted with? The 21-inch wheels has quite high consumption due to 265 mm. width, square setup. If you drove faster it would impact your range, the Guess’o meter would be just as precise, as long as you enter a destination, so that it knows where you’re going, the speed limits and topography..

I own a Audi 55 since january 2020 and the average full charge is 150 miles

    • @SteveJulien

      That does seem low!
      About 1.7miles per kWh?
Unless it’s really cold where you are, or you’re driving it like you stole it, maybe it needs checking for binding brakes for example.

Yes, it’s heavy (and very well made and finished) but I’d have hoped for more range with the big battery.

Wow this expensive luxury car has a white\grey top sealing thats kinda sad. Makes it look so cheap...even the ID.3 comes in black sealing.
