Shame that he doesn't actually have a real-hand in the making. This overplayed notion that "Architects design buildings - not actually build them" doesn't wash when it comes to Fine-Art. Anyone with any idea could have them 3d printed on a grand scale and look impressive. Much to be said for the sense of touch of materials in the decision-making process. Any amount of his pontificating about presence/absence does not instill much confidence that the finished work exemplifies his original idea.

Anish Kapoor's early works very much so have his hands and even body in some of them.. Perhaps the artist strongest hand is in that exact chose to extract it from the piece, or have a system of capitalism, monetary exchange etc. involved.. I personally feel like it can sometimes be a crutch one way or the other.. Certainly an element of art that is pondered in depth by many artist and used to engage the brain by surpassing and/or allowing one to allude to the absent of emotion or emotion and also the same goes for narrative.. It almost extracts himself from many personal emotions through his work which is interesting and nice to me. I don't see anyones hands in many pieces, almost from a different planet created by something else other than man, so clean, sleek and sexy
      .. I love it!
