truly a challenging and dangerous work of art, probably because it blocks the fire exit

saw this at modern centre for contemp art in sydney, it was amazing! the space was perfect, and i saw the window before seeing the steel dome & was stunned by what it really was that i was looking into! amazing use of space

It's the pure ambition of his work and its visceral quality that imacts. It's thoughful Art at its best.

In 1996, there was a gloriously fascinating art installation at the San Francisco MOMA. Designed by the Interim Office of Architecture, the "Gnomon," was essentially a milky acrylic blob imprisoned in a dark room. The only light in that space came from within the Gnomon (moving images projected from inside it onto its translucent surface). This installation by Kapoor reminds me of that other work, but this is more mysterious for being partially hidden within the Guggenheim's constrictive walls.

"...objects that really test the phenomenality of space." Sadly typical of the pretentious, vacuous dribble used to fill space between capital and period in statements about art.

@tmallon In my eyes it's the complete shape that makes it impressive. The details of the bolts, nuts and connections don't really matter.

WTF?! Did we viewers really have to wait all the way to the end of the video to see one glimpse of the complete artwork?
