I know, it's sad...the Original core Avengers team is no more. Why they can't get Hulk right but Scarlett Witch and Captain Marvel got to fight. I like Endgame better because how they tied everything with the old movies. They purposely weakened the two most powerful Avengers: Thor and Hulk, they could have wrecked at that final battle.

Infinity war was definitely more fun, but endgame was an emotional roller coaster for me. To me, as a MOVIE endgame is better script and plot wise but infinity war is more exciting from start to finish.
Whole heartedly agree. Both movies served different purposes. Infinity War has the luxury of being the setup to the most powerful villain having the biggest impact our heroes and the universe. Endgame had the burden of wrapping up the saga, dealing with the aftermath of the snap (which i loved the execution), explaining their rules of time travel while also figuring out the details of their execution, and paying off with a huge battle. Endgame had so much riding on it that would definitely take up screen time. I don't think that Endgame trading narrative development for action scenes would've made this a much better film. The entire universe being split in half should be a big deal and I'm glad that they payed respect to those stakes.
With that said I do wish that Hulk got his rematch.... But you've gotta give it the writers for all the risk that they took for story development. Particularly Thor and Hulk. It was unexpected and gave Endgame an unexpected twist rather than them just sticking to the basic formula.
The time travel was just bullshit. They shouldn’t have went that route honestly

I didn’t receive it as “lets just let these characters shine because their contracts are up.” To me this was the best way to say goodbye to characters I’ve grown to love over the last decade. I didn’t mind having less actions pieces because the first two hours served to remind us of the journey that was the last 21 films. It had me hooked emotionally. And then that last hour was just perfect. Five saxophones man 😭
Yall know that Professor Hulk is an actual character that REAL Marvel fans were waiting for.
I mean even in the comics fans weren’t that crazy about professor hulk cuz he just wasn’t what hulk needed to be
But we've had YEARS of the same...exact...Hulk. It wasn't until the last few movies that we started to see a different side of Hulk. I'm with the fans who really enjoyed seeing that final side of Hulk.
But professor hulk also had hands and feet for folk. He still got busy

This is probably the only time I've disagreed with you on a movie. Great review tho. Angry Hulk smashes...Professor Hulk brings half the universe back to life. That's a better revenge in my book.
True. But for the movie sake and the excitement factor it would have been better to see the ACTUAL professor hulk. This one was more Bruce banner in the hulks body with half the size and strength.

For Bruces arc I think it fits that he does something meaningful with his reunited self rather than something impulsive and violent.
Think about if a rematch did happen. We seen hulk end out each fight in Avengers except for the final two. He was the difference factor, THE STRONGEST AVENGER. The last movies treated him as a set piece. Thor was a prop in Endgame but he got to fight Thanos. The potential pay off from hulk losing the 1st fight to learn to master both halves of himself, come back and display his new power level is limitless. who was the strongest avenger in Endgame?? Nobody not Thor, Captain Marvel or Hulk. It was the smartest avenger who bested Thanos. But nobody beat Thanos with the hands- minus Wanda. She was respected through all the movies unlike Hulk.

Captain Marvel snapped on her second entrance during the battle! That was one of the best scenes. I legit had chills when she slid thru that ship like butter!
Loved the part when all the ladies squaded up! Peper with her "iron woman" suit and andnthe wasp pops up as their walking! Man! I had mad gosebumbs! Lol
End game was better.
That Cap fighting scene was insane.
Also him saying Avengers Assemble was everything.

Cant even lie Tony... i kind of seperate both movies 😅 to me, Endgame was more than just a stereotypical Marvel/action movie. This was a film worthy of almost all categories of film making.

It's not a plothole, no one knew that someone had to die for the soul stone. Even thanos and gamora didn't know until they got to the stone. Also thanos never directly told them in infinity war that he traded her for the stone.
Lane Dayes No one knew your right but Peter was able to somewhat put it together that Thanos killed Gamora for the soul stone. Now warning Clint and Nat probably wouldn’t have helped anyway because you sacrifice a soul for the soul stone. But he’s not wrong there Nebula or Tony could’ve told Nat or Clint beforehand.

I don’t think Cap going back and becoming old Cap undid all the things he’d done in the movies. My understanding was that it just created a new timeline. It’s a little confusing but I decided not to look too in depth and just enjoy it as the fictional comic book movie it is 🤷🏾♀️

The fact that old Cap exist through the whole ending off with him. He shouldn't exist in that timeline as an old man unless he found a way to travel back. The way they explained time travel in the movie, once he disappeared and lived his life in an altered timeline, he was gone for good. So either he found a way different way to travel back to the original timeline or they goofed up the that part of the ending.

Whether its an alternate timeline or the same timeline whn cap goes back n time the original cap n the 40s is still frozen wit the tesseract - the future Cap goes back 2 the 40s 2 lived out his life wit the ol dame. So technically there is 1 capA roaming around. However the timeloop is closed bc whn future capA grows old and dies there is still the frzn one 2b thawed out while looking 4 the tesseract.

I’m usually with you 100 bro but I think You saw the studio at work because you had inside info on contracts expiring and if you think about it, having the type of moments that were in Infinity Wars would have been redundant. I agree Hulk was disappointing! I really wanted to see Hulk put them paws on Thanos but the inclusion of storylines like Ronin, Hydra Cap and Cap mollywhopping Thanos with Mjolnir made for a very ROBUST film! 4.5 for me (.5 deduction for the tenderness of Hulk).

They needed professor hulk for the infinity stones and they don’t completely own the rights to the hulk so they couldn’t do a lot with him but I do wish we could’ve gotten world breaker hulk to fight thanos
That doesn't even make sense on so many levels. They don't own the rights but the MCU is self contained so whatever happens there has no impact in another movie. Also, they didn't need Hulk for the stones in any capacity. He failed at time travel and Thor was willing and capable of doing the snap. The only thing I agree with is World breaker Hulk but then again the movie would have been one sided.
I actually think several people could of done the snap, but only Ironman could of remove the stones from one glove and add them to his.

Better yet wiped all their memories and send them back to 2014 fixing that timeline. Iron Man shouldn't have even died from that weak ass snap considering all the did was snap Thanos and his army compared to snapping half the universe.

It made sense for Cap to stay back because he just wasn’t supposed to be a perfect soldier but also “a good man” which he was. And gave Peggy that dance/life. Cap already did everything he could for Bucky and Bucky is still a fugitive, no matter the brainwash. So it made sense for Sam to get the shield.
In the comics both Winter Soldier and Falcon get to be Captain America at different times. I also thought Bucky was going to go back to Wakanda and be White Wolf and because of his past, he probably felt he was not worthy to be Captain America, so he let Sam go see Cap.
A McGee true, I totally thought Bucky was gonna get the shield at the end. But after a while I was like ehh, seems okay.

Captain marvel should have snapped. She is made from one of the infinity stones. She could have handled it. Endgame wasn’t an action movie. It was a drama with action sequences.
She is not "made" from an Infinity Stone. She got her powers from an engine that was powered by an Infinity Stone. Huge difference.
While that makes sense, it would have took away from the drama. It had to be Tony. He started it all, then he ended it.

Natural_Journee Exactly! People can never appreciate a good movie if they're always looking for action. A lot of the "boring slow parts" were building up to the end and was a farewell to the characters that are leaving.

The theory I keep seeing is that in Age of Ultron, Cap was pretending he couldn't lift it to save Thor's feelings and that is why Thor yelled "I knew it". But I cant get with that one.
Everything bit of material I've seen from the source material and the movies suggests otherwise. You can't be partially worthy of the power of Thor. Either you are worthy of you aren't. I don't think Odin's incantation would allow for a thing. Thor put it on Loki's chest, and he literally could not budge it. Hulk with all this strength couldn't move it one bit in the Avengers. They weren't worthy of course, but if there was a such thing as partial worthiness Loki being Odin's son allow him to nudge it.
I like endgame better. I feel like Tony Stark completed his mission. Thor is probably gonna be on Guardian of the Galaxy
I'm pretty sure Cap was always worthy..he just was humble enough to not lift it in Age of Ultron.
No, it wasn't about not being humble. He was worthy enough to budge it but not to lift it because of the secret of Bucky killing Tony's parents. Remember Winter Soldier came out before Age of Ultron, so Cap knew all that time and never told Tony who found out later in Civil War.

Hey Tony...if Infinity War didnt exist, would you be as disappointed by the pacing of this movie? Infinity War was an overdose of action and very little story or character building. End game was definitely a slow build up with the whole time traveling heist with a fantastic pay off. If the pacing was so frantic in Infinity War, I think the build up in Endgame would be more tolerable, in my opinion. I didn't have a problem with it but I can understand why some did see it as an issue.
Chris Hemsworth just signed a 6 movie contract with Marvel so no he’s staying. Chris Evans is leaving and Robert is leaving. Don Cheadle is leaving. Scarlett is staying. Paul Rudd is staying. Benedict Cumberbatch is staying. Elizabeth is staying. Paul bentany is staying. Zoe Saldana is staying as well as The whole cast of Guardians of the Galaxy. Chadwick is staying. Mark Ruffalo is leaving. Tom Holland is staying.

Hulk holding up the building was a easter egg from Secret wars where he held up a mountain that they all trapped under. Spider-man made fun of him to make him mad and make him stronger.
i swear if hulk went world breaker n just got ONE good punch on thanos n sent him flying that would of got a bigger reaction than cap lifting Mjolnir. cap had plenty of moments in the MCU that was hulk time to shine n i felt like they deprived him of it simply to make him a joke.
The Worldbreaker wouldn't have fit but Hulk should've rocked Thanos one good time
But this was also Steve Rogers' last movie as Cap. Hulk isn't done in the MCU, he'll have his own time to shine.
@@johnnytsunami9132 cap had a ton of moments tho. not to mention a solo movie trilogy. hulk hasnt been relevant since the first avengers. he been just a punching bag since then. im just going by who needed the shine more. giving cap that moment was like bringing water to the ocean. lol not to mention that hulk DABBED!! there is no coming back from that lol he just gonna be a joke till they reboot him haha

Same. I also was surprised with her! She cried when she saw that Fury was gone but told the team she had other priorities lol, then now that he's back no interaction not even at the funeral? I felt she was really disconnected from the movie and sprinkled into it for decoration lol
I felt like endgame was a little drawn out wasn’t enough action at times but I definitely like how infinity war and endgame tie into one another

I just watched your infinity war review and you look so different. I remember watching all of your stuff back when you were a little chubby, and when you had a gap, and in that review you had lost the chub already but you still had your gap and it’s crazy how much teeth changes a persons appearance! I'm an action junkie as well so i WOULD put Infinity War over Endgame. The only problem is..... Captain Marvel! She tilts those scales for me. I'm gonna have to put Endgame slightly above.

The story writers took away what the Infinity Stones could do individually. For example, I wanted to see the soul power independently and absorb someone’s soul like in the comic book. Was it the soul stone by itself that made half of life in the universe disappear? I wanted to see more of the reality stone and more of the space stone. I wanted to see the mind stone turn avengers against each other. They took a lot of that away from us and made it seem like you had to snap your fingers for the gauntlet to take half of the population out of existence when all the wielder of the gauntlet has to do is just will it into existence.
The hulk pissed me off! I like Ragnarok and Avengers 1... infinity war and end game Hulk was underwhelming

@The R. True. The only problem with Falcon getting the shield is he doesn't have super serum in his bloodstream so he's not shaking off asskickings like cap did. Cap should have gave Sam a blood transfusion, that would have been better than the shield.
@JJ Kingman True. Even without the super solider serum, he was worthy of the shield. Marvel really did a great job of storytelling.
Great review Tony! Again, I 1000% agree with you about the Hulk! A good Hulk action scene would've added to the movie.

I honestly feel like ”Professor Hulk’s” behavior fit. Banner isn't a violent person. When we saw Hulk going nuts in the other movies, it wasn't Banner controlling the body. So, I think it's fitting he wasn't as ”Hulk Smash” in this one.
