Played strong done good Fletch. An exceptional episode. The HARS Connie is an exceptional aircraft. When I was involved in HARS I was fortunate enough to have about 20 flights in her - nothing else like it! Each motor has the power of about 10 Holden 5L V8's - it is a beast. It absolutely roars and breathes fire on take off. A petrol head heaven!

A great episode, Mr. Fletch, of course! An aircraft that continues to amaze me is the C-130. My Daddy served in the US Air Force and was stationed at Pease AFB back in the early seventies when I was a Young'in, I reckon about 3 years old. He took me over to the flight line and took me on board of the C-130 he served as radio operator. It's something that aircraft is still flying today.

Around the 7 minute mark the mobile stairs for the constellation...In the early 80s in Sydney in the RAAF at Villawood we rebuilt one of these stair. We removed the original 1175? side valve ford and gear box and installed a 250ci ford 6 cylinder and auto box. It was an over kill !!!!. It was the smallest engine ford was selling at the time. Love watching your show. Keep up the good work. I liked the Morris Oxford series 2. I put one back on the road in Tassie.

I had the opportunity of looking thru Connie in 1996 when it was part of the opening of Armidale Airports new terminal. Incredible old aircraft with an incredible history

Thanks Fletch. The Jumbo jet is my absolute favourite passenger aircraft. What a shame they aren’t running anymore. I would take one over any of the new stuff any day.

Not quite right, JT has a 707, and it has been donated to HARS, and is coming to HARS eventually!

So flying from one side of the world is ‘beyond human comprehension’? If that were true, we wouldn’t HAVE aircraft!
