Fitted Koni Special Active shocks to my 9-5 Aero along with Poly bushes all round. Awesome drive.

Thanks for making this video... a mechanic here in Indiana couldn’t figure out the creaking noise of my 2008 Saab 93... front suspension. Polyurethane Bushings...

I’m pretty sure OEM struts on the aero are still Sachs. Lower springs like you mentioned. I have bilstein b4 with aero springs on my non aero. I felt like b6 was too stiff for daily driving but man did they perform great. The b4’s are bilsteins”oem equivalent” option and state they are about 15% stiffer than oem. This feels like an accurate description. But the performance is lacking. Kind of the worst of both worlds. If I had to do it over again I might have gone with Koni adjustables set all the way soft.

No. 1 Problem with saabs and especially 9-5s are the soft bushing that get shot quick. Just changing to polyurethan bushing both front and rear makes alot of difference
Edit; you menioned it i see 😁 but should def. be the first uppgrade

great advice. have been hearing a clanking/rattling noise in the front of my 9-3 every time I go over bumps and I suspect it is those bushings. am planning on upgrading my shocks soon so I will have to look at all the things you mentioned in this video as well. this rattling has been extremely annoying so glad I think I figured out what it is

Looking for front sway bar bushings and brackets is there a universal part that will replace OE? 2003 9-5 linear? Any suggestions? In Canada so parts are very limited here.

I picked up my first Saab, a '07 9-3 tid estate a few months ago for a reasonable price knowing it needed work. Had a major service done with a brake overhaul (still feels spongey, but work well. Seems this is common). Steering seems vague on the twisties so maybe new bushings might help after 150,000 mi. Can't seem to find much info on my model in Australia. Ever had any experience with them?

I've had that issue recently 😕 on my 9-5. As Kyle said check the fuses. My left side wiring harness was cut so I had to replace that. Once I checked deeper into the issue I ended up having to replace the entire assembly unfortunately. Its working now thankfully.

@@cbdoil4082 so idk if the 9-3 has it but under the 9-5 headlight assembly there's something called a ballistic it might be worth a look. Those tend to go bad and cause issues. I would spray some CDR electronic cleaner on the connectors.

The SAAB 9-5 handles far better around the corners when you do this: Lower the car with 2 cm for a lower center of gravity, change the suspension with a notch stronger suspension arms, change the shock absorbers with also stronger and stiffer ones. This will not affect the comfortable ride much. The standard shock absorbers at the back were not worthy of the SAAB 9-5. I have a SAAB 9-5 with the suggested changes above, and I noticed a big positive change!
