La Paz, Mexico Travel Guide: Top Things to Do and See [Travel Vlog]

La Paz, Baja California Sur, MEXICO is the first stop on our Central America Backpacking Trip.
We chose to start our Central America travels this winter in La Paz Mexico for a few reasons; epic beaches - think Playa Balandra, easily reached from BC Canada (where we were previously travelling) and the tight sailing community here in the Sea of Cortez.
As part of our travels through Central America we also want to try and learn more about sailing, with the hopes of buying our own sailboat and going cruising in the near future. So we came to La Paz hoping we might be able to find someone sailing across to mainland Mexico that we could crew with… you’ll need to wait for next week's episode to see if that works out!
We stay in an awesome little a-frame cabin, explore the beautiful city of La Paz & the unbelievable beach of Playa Balandra and we go for a day trip as ‘crew’ on a Lagoon 620 - the most impressive yacht we’ve ever been on.
We feel that many people travelling to Mexico as backpackers tend to stick to the more popular areas of the Yucatan Peninsula and Quintana Roo - but if you are planning a trip to Mexico and looking for something different we highly recommend adding the Baja California Sur Peninsula to your list!
