It’s February 1st, 7 years to the day that my grandpa passed away. He was the father I never got. I feel like this was not only a great song, but very special that you posted it on this day.

Great song 😢 Steven has been a successful Contemporary Christian artist for a long time. I've never heard this one before. He does the best cover of Glenn Campbell's " WITCHA LINEMAN" that I've heard.

A friend of mine put this song on a DVD of photos of my dad and sent it to me as a surprise for my birthday a few years ago. Some of the photos of him in high school, when he shipped out to Korea, and after he married my mother. But my favorites were the photos of him as a little boy. I had never seen a photo of my dad as a child and I wonder to this day how she managed to get those photos. Dad died in 1993 at only 61 (three months after my mother) and I still miss them both. This photo is a beautiful tribute. That line that goes "But still, if you ask me who my hero's always been, that's my dad" ALWAYS brings tears. Another Christians artist named Mark Schultz has recorded some real tearjerkers as well, especially "Letters From War" and "He's My Son".

I’m glad it moved you Tasha. My relationship to my dad has been rocky but there’s been a lot of healing and I’m grateful he’s still around. This song also makes me think of my own kids and makes me want to be someone they will look up to and maybe feel this way about. Thank you for being so willing to show your heart, that’s why we love you!

My dad passed away in 2017, and parts of this video reminded me of him. Blue collar worker, played guitar, and pretty flawed in some ways. However, I spent too many years judging my dad for the things he didn't do well instead of appreciating him and his many positive qualities. Like making a stranger feel like a friend, instilling a good work ethic in me and my brothers, and being very kind and loving to my mother when she couldn't get around very well as she got older. If you are holding on to anger at your dad or mom because of some of their mistakes or shortcomings, stop for a minute to remember all the things they did right. None of us want to be judged by our failures, but for the things we get right. It's natural to be hurt and angry, but hate the sin, not the sinner.

This got me too!! My dad was my hero too! Such a kind, hardworking, gentle man. Lost him in 2003 to cancer. I was blessed to be with him when he left us.

I have fond memories of my Father the first 9 years of my life. That was when he walked away from 5 kids and a pregnant wife, never to look back until he was on his death bed. Then he wanted us 6 kids to come see him, but we didn't. He died a lonely old man and I can only hope he gave himself to God before he died.

Not Fair! You post this song while I am sitting at my parent’s place to help my 89 year old father get in and out of the house after having fractured his ankle. This was a beautiful song - thanks for introducing it to me. 😢

Cinderella from Stephen Curtis Chapman will put you in your dad's arms again. And his song Beauty Will Rise is about the time his 16 year old son accidentally ran over and killed his 5 year old daughter. And how God used that tragedy.
