How did no one talk about that when this game was getting so much praise as being a great first game for all gamers?(while previous games were niche. I see why). And you forgot to mention that people have to go to the Resource Center, then Manage Investigations to find these damn Tempered Monster quests, which will be hell to beat.

The previous MH i played is MHFU (yes, i skipped MH3 and MH4 due to budget lol), and you have no idea how insane the grind system there. Back then, mining requires pickaxe items, Whetstone aren't infinite like now, and armors were seperated between longrange and shortrange (just so you can grind some more)

I had a feeling that getting one would mean jack shit because *more* grinding would be required, and I was right. Saying otherwise is like if I said that something in a new Assassin's Creed game isn't bad because the older games had bs in them. Just because I'm a long-time fan of that series(I havent spent $60 on an AC title since Rogue though), doesnt change that the newest installment has its own bs.

Its *really* that this game was supposed to have them, which is why the game is so damn grindy, getting hero streamstones and those earplugs are 100% RNG & monsters have broken hitboxes and cheap attacks. And thats just the base game. I havent played much of the expansion yet, because after it took so damn long to beat Beotodus, such a lazy ass copy & paste of Jyuratodus(the *2nd* copy & paste of that monster) and bullshit to fight, I have to grind even more to get augmented weapons & armor.

I'm not sure about the others speeding through this game, but i just beat the story at like 80ish hours and unlocked tempered monsters, and i'm not even touching them until i get all the weapons i want from types outside the DBs i've been using and i get the end game armor that i want. To be clear, i spent 80 hours upgrading ONE weapon type, i can't imagine people saying they are already tired of this game have really mastered EVERY or even MOST weapon types. I'm not saying you're arent getting your worth if you don't love every weapon type, but do at least try every weapon and if a couple seem interesting try a lil harder to master them, it really is entirely different playstyles.
totally agree with this, just got to hr 29 with GS then stopped to go back and make armor sets and play other weapons. I helped a friend finish low rank and found a new love of gunlance and switchaxe.
Made two characters, one I played through solely with long sword and after being unsatisfied with the female armour sets I decided to make a male character and thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to try the charge blade. I've only just got to Pukei-pukei and I can already feel I've improved from flailing about and forgetting combos. Can't wait to try more weapons once I'm satisfied with my charge blade skills. I plan to go all the way with both accounts, master and build the top tiers of every weapon.
Im still trying to beat that Beyond the Blasting Scales quest those two bastards are annoying af. Im about to get 80 hours and still have so much room for improvement with my wepon and gear.
I've put almost 90 hours in so far and have only reached HR 10 by doing exactly what you have suggested. I farm enough materials to make about several different weapons of the same monster tree, plus running back old hunts with online friends, plus running back whatever part of the game I am trying to get my little brother through (he only plays the game when I am around to play with him and it makes me so happy!). I love this game.
Ironically I never knew this was a thing until I got one of the special stones but even more ironically I got the one for the bow and insect glaive and the insert glaive is my favorite and my best weapon. I’m very lucky.
For augmenting affinity on your weapon, it’s 10% Crit for the first time. The second or third time you do it for the same weapon it’s only 5%. Not sure if you mentioned that but just throwing it in there. Also rarity 8 - can be augmented 1 time, rarity 7- 2 times and rarity 6 is 3 times.
I'm loving how much praise this game has been getting. Hopefully this will make EA realise that a lot of gamers prefer complex systems within games rather than the oversimplified systems such as the subclass perk trees in Destiny 2.

The way progression works is beautiful. First you progress with getting new weapons, then accessories and armor, then weapons again. Seems very well designed.
Arekz, for the sake of the MHW community, could you *please* read this rather short comment? As many of us may have already noticed, the in-game MHW community is a lot more quiet than in older MH games. (By which I mean that the chat is quiet almost always) But thanks to some random guy that I found today, I learnt that a BIG reason of why this is caused is because the “All” chat in MHW lets you send messages ONLY to people who are in Astera, and NOT ones who are questing! By pressing R2 while in the chat, you can make it able to send messages to EVERYONE in the session. And that’s a really big deal, because 90% of people in MHW find it so easy to grind quests due to the SOS system, and are constantly busy. In other words, they are outside of Astera *most* of the time, and unable to talk or organize hunts with their fellow hunters. If you would be interested in informing the community about this in one of your videos, I’d be really grateful to you. In fact, I believe many of us would. :) Thanks for reading this, if you did!

For helping me notice this. xD He sent a message while I was fighting Nergigante, and he asked if anyone wanted to do Arena quests. At first I replied to him mid-hunt, but he didn’t reply back, and I found that weird. THAT’S when I finally realized that I could change the recipients of my messages from “Headquarters” to “All”, by pressing R2. And then he replied to me. :) And we had a good time playing classic MH multiplayer the good old fashioned way in the hub! :D And lastly, you should probably look for “Same language” lobbies if you want more chances to find people to play or talk with. Since (no offense) there’s a looooot of Japanese players in the PS4 version of the game, and there’s a high chance you’d find a lot of them in a “Any language” lobby. lol Thus significantly reducing your chances of communicating with your fellow hunters. Well, unless you speak Japanese! :)
Monika is Bae Haha That is understandable. And I wouldn’t take these elitists seriously, if I were you. Honestly, *EVERY* hard game is “easy” once you get a lot of experience on it. Even games like Dark Souls. (I got good at Dark Souls super fast because of my experience in MH) People would be lieing if they said they never found MH hard at all. lol Literally *EVERY* MH veteran that I know started out as a noob at the game. And it’s only natural that the future games will start looking easy to you after you become good at the previous ones. In the end, all that matters is to actually enjoy the game for what it is. :) And MHW will get a lot harder in the future too, when we get G Rank in the game. But every MH game starts out without G Rank.
I''ve beaten Tempered Kirin for the quest instructed in the video and I've killed TONS of tempered elder dragons like Vaal and Teostra. I've still not seen a single stream stone yet that allows me to unlock augmenting. I'm almost starting to wonder if it's a bug at this point with how bad the drop rate is.
I'm not going to really do the "true" endgame stuff. At least not for a while. I'm 96 hours into the game & haven't cleared the ending boss yet. I just wanna take my time and enjoy it with my friends, plus learn how to use more weapons to their full potential. :3 Just having so much fun doing the little things!
far as I'm aware from what I looked at, slot augmentation increases the slot level of slots that already exist but if there are no slots or it's already level 3 it will add a new slot
For anyone curious, once you start hunting tempered elders, youll be drowning in gleaming stones, so armor augmenting takes no time at all. I have 3 sets of gear fully unlocked and im only HR 64. Augmenting your weapon is a 1 time deal since youll most likely have a rare 8 weapon, so thats just rng wait til it hits. The real end game is still decorations. Knowing the exact skills you want for your build, making armor, then slowly replacing the armor with better secondary skills as you shift your build into decorations, and find the perfect combination that grants you as many useful skills as possible, that's the true end game grind. And trust me, with the drop rates of useful decorations being as low as it is, this is going to take a long, LONG time.
Nard Moore augmentation unlocks when you get your first warrior or heroes streamstone drops, which have a chance to drop from the blue rewards from tempered quests.
question for anyone: In area 3 in wildspire waste, i found a group of 3 critters. they're like a feral tribe of the palicos that will usually help you, but these guys have like tiki masks and are territorial. they get pissy if you get close to them, and attack if you don't go away. they hit you pretty hard with a variety of status effects, but stay close to their area and won't chase you far. i can't find anything on Google or youtube, so figured I'd ask here and find out if anyone else had run into these little guys, and if they're there for anything in particular
Doesn’t this suggest that a G Rank DLC isn’t going to happen? Because once the DLC drops, if it even does, these augmented weapons will be reset because the Weapons now go up to G Rank? Just an honest question, and I’d be interested in your thoughts on that.

I actually didnt thibk of that. So yeah g rank is out of the question. Only new armor and weapons.....well i guess g rank is only for tougher players. This game has to many new user friendly funtions. More of a doorway for bigginers to get into mh without all the negative things you had to balance out of armor sets or quest tree to unlock higher hr quests. I coyuld go on but yeah the next mh better be more like the older ones
Y'all are crazy! I was probably close to 200 hrs before beating the two tempered Bazels. You could have caught me just crawling around in the mud finding bugs and looking at ants. Was so psyched to have it on my flat screen and look so beautiful.

I've got a funny story about that, So I reached 49 and tried taking on the tempered Kirin with this other dude, He died then when he came back got hit again, I go for the health booster and he turns the kirin towards me and it hits me with a one shot. Told me to sell my game and eat ****, so I leave, try it solo, beat it, screenshot it, posted to him and send him a friend request. Also I'm rank 50 now (Yay) Moral of the story is that sometimes, solo is better.
Its better to solo things then doing it multiplayer, but if you have some good friends who play the game and you guys are a good team, Any monster will bow before you.
I had high hopes and low expectations for that game. I don't regret buying D2, the thing I do regret is how the developers are running the game. Unfortunately nothing I can do about that. They don't listen to their community and being someone who has at least a 1000+ hours in D1 it upsetting to see it dying like it is.
You can unlock augmenting as soon as you unlock your Hunter Rank the first time, any tempered monster you fight as a chance of dropping Warrior stones and as soon as you find one it will unlock augmenting... I got my first one and therefore augmenting at rank 31
I'm still chugging through at a comfortable pace, around the 60 hour mark and just got my HR Odogaron set together. Having an absolute blast, though, and it's nice to get a glimpse at what's in store down the line!
Is HR gained retroactively from quests before HR limit break? I have completed the story yesterday and was immediately HR29 with double Bazel quest unlocked. Or is it perhaps a bug?
thrash361 Do they have to be in the same expedition? I can only find about 1 of the floor scooping marks for tempered elder dragons in each map and in a very specific location at every map, like I get 1 Daora gnashes on the floor next to the Rathalos nest in the Ancient forest and in the Kushala nest in the Elder's Recess... I don't know what to do really...
There is only one in each map (elder recess can have up to 3 though), so no it doesn't have to be the same expedition. Just go to one area go straight to the track, then go to another and do the same. Rinse and repeat till you get the investigation. When on the investigation be sure to pick up tracks and break parts so you get more points towards the next ones.
Thanks for the tutorial out of all of them yours truly helped me I was HR 60 and using hammer the whole time not knowing we need to beat tempered dragons with the charged blade or the other specific weapons I was getting frustrated.
Never mind! I'll stick with not augmenting cause I'm not about to grind for something very rare. This video reminded me why I stopped playing. The drops are just never there to begin with. I always feel like I'm doing something wrong no matter what I change.
Pretty sure the Health Regen's "stack with other upgrades" refers to stacking multiple instances of Health Regen on a weapon; not the 1 skill that actually increases healing(Recovery Up). I mean it could stack with Recovery Up, but I doubt it.
I'm going to get so much hate for this, but i'm pretty much done with MH World in terms of content. 100+ Hours, Augmentation unlocked, most armors and weapons i want ive made already. Theres nothing left to do. That's the problem without G Rank on Release. And not to mention this MH is the least content filled in a long long time, in terms of the amount of monsters and such. I'll just have to wait for DLC, or go play MHXX on the Switch to fill the gap.

I feel for you, but most ppl aren’t like this 2-3 weeks post release. Granted I’m almost 70 hours in but I’m just now fighting Nergigante the first time and i know for a fact I’m gonna be over 100 hours by endgame. Gotta give yourself some time in between or this is what happen

You can get tempered elder dragon investigations from regular tempered monsters tracks from high rank expeditions so pick up all tempered tracks while on high rank expeditions. You need luck to get a weapon streamstone from the tempered monsters or elder dragons investigations to unlock the augmentation option at the smithy. That’s the only way so get farming... I didn’t get one until HR 58 which was today. Im now HR 60 with fully augmented Vaal Hazak armor set :D

Thanks for explaining how it's unlocked since Capcom was very cryptic about literally every unlock in post-game. Though, I would have preferred it if you mentioned how to unlock it at the beginning of the video instead of the end. I almost closed the window thinking you weren't going to cover it (the only thing I was looking for).
Hey Arekkz, will you be making a video on going in depth on augmenting? I've hit a wall on what to put into certain weapons/builds and I've found your advice to always helpful.
I could not think of better examples of how to properly install "chase" in a game centered AT ITS CORE, looting. There is sooooooooo much to do, so much to master, so much to grind, but none of it is out of reach with some good dedication and focus. For every weapon type (14) there's 2 or 3 that stand way out for the player's playstyle, and for every playstyle there's a broad spectrum of full sets that are worth chasing after, as well as a few min-max-er sets. And when those aren't enough, there are for the truly dedicated and focused, augmented abilities, still within reach. And every single bit is earned through progression as a player learning the game. And the best part is that end game gear still doesn't guarantee you're playing god mode with the looming threat of still being one-shot-ed. You can still lose your edge, still lose a hunt, but even that gives the chase for succeeding next time.

Arekkz Gaming while I'm sure you already have a video planned out for some time I the future I would greatly appreciate a video about the different rooms and what creatures you can collect to keep as pets in said rooms. Maybe something passive to do between the weapon workshops?
My friend killed 148 vaal, 68 Teostra, 48 kushala and 32 Kirin and the 148 vaal gave him the hero streamstone for the great sword. he has over 3 of every other weapon ( heroes streamstone)
You don't have to beat the game for the first tempered monsters actually. I just got done with the Kushala tracking (having already beaten Vaal Hazak) and on my runs for Daora's tracks, and later Teostra's, I've already found those blue tracks for Tobi Kadachi, Pukei-Pukei, Anjanath and Barroth *and* unlocked an investigation with a tempered Jyura (no idea what its full name is). I don't know what you can do with the rewards for that quest just yet tho, because I didn't actually try to do it yet

If tempered elder dragon quests show up as investigations, how do you specifically make those investigations show up? Do you just keep fighting the tempered Kirin until you get an investigation you want?
Xach Slash After getting the Tempered Kirin quest and completing it, there's a chance you'll get a Tempered Elder Dragon investigation when finding Tempered Monster tracks in expedition mode. So just look for blue monster tracks.
Pureeey does it matter what tracks? Because in maps like wildspire there are tone of tracks but all of them say level 1 threat level. Tracks in elder recess, on the other hand, give threat level 2 but there’s often only 1 or 2 tracks and it’s not enough to activate an investigation.

If you can find an SOS that has a tempered monster, join them and then just follow that monster for its tracks. I joined a tempered Kushala and he left behind a lot of tracks.
The real endgame is when your hunter character finally grows too old to continue hunting with their brittle bones, but one day runs off in the middle of the night to re-enact the first quest they ever did with hunting a few Jagras in the Ancient Forest. Managing to kill them all, they rest their body on the pile of Jagras corpses and peacefully die with a smile across their face, firmly holding a small memento from their late Felyne partner. *"Quest Complete"*
I've seen too many people say that this isn't worth the grind. To put a number, I've seen maybe 30-40 people say this is a pointless grindfest, while 3 people give this system a yes.
Seems like you can get the Warrior Streamstone Shards from Tier 2 Tempered monsters as well!

I've put almost 90 hours in so far and have only reached HR 10 by doing exactly what you have suggested. I farm enough materials to make about several different weapons of the same monster tree, plus running back old hunts with online friends, plus running back whatever part of the game I am trying to get my little brother through (he only plays the game when I am around to play with him and it makes me so happy!). I love this game.
Ironically I never knew this was a thing until I got one of the special stones but even more ironically I got the one for the bow and insect glaive and the insert glaive is my favorite and my best weapon. I’m very lucky.
For augmenting affinity on your weapon, it’s 10% Crit for the first time. The second or third time you do it for the same weapon it’s only 5%. Not sure if you mentioned that but just throwing it in there. Also rarity 8 - can be augmented 1 time, rarity 7- 2 times and rarity 6 is 3 times.
I'm loving how much praise this game has been getting. Hopefully this will make EA realise that a lot of gamers prefer complex systems within games rather than the oversimplified systems such as the subclass perk trees in Destiny 2.

The way progression works is beautiful. First you progress with getting new weapons, then accessories and armor, then weapons again. Seems very well designed.
Arekz, for the sake of the MHW community, could you *please* read this rather short comment?
As many of us may have already noticed, the in-game MHW community is a lot more quiet than in older MH games. (By which I mean that the chat is quiet almost always)
But thanks to some random guy that I found today, I learnt that a BIG reason of why this is caused is because the “All” chat in MHW lets you send messages ONLY to people who are in Astera, and NOT ones who are questing! By pressing R2 while in the chat, you can make it able to send messages to EVERYONE in the session.
And that’s a really big deal, because 90% of people in MHW find it so easy to grind quests due to the SOS system, and are constantly busy. In other words, they are outside of Astera *most* of the time, and unable to talk or organize hunts with their fellow hunters.
If you would be interested in informing the community about this in one of your videos, I’d be really grateful to you. In fact, I believe many of us would. :) Thanks for reading this, if you did!

No worries, man. :) That guy yesterday actually is the one we should be mostly thanking for, to be honest. For helping me notice this. xD He sent a message while I was fighting Nergigante, and he asked if anyone wanted to do Arena quests. At first I replied to him mid-hunt, but he didn’t reply back, and I found that weird.
THAT’S when I finally realized that I could change the recipients of my messages from “Headquarters” to “All”, by pressing R2. And then he replied to me. :) And we had a good time playing classic MH multiplayer the good old fashioned way in the hub! :D
And lastly, you should probably look for “Same language” lobbies if you want more chances to find people to play or talk with. Since (no offense) there’s a looooot of Japanese players in the PS4 version of the game, and there’s a high chance you’d find a lot of them in a “Any language” lobby. lol Thus significantly reducing your chances of communicating with your fellow hunters.

Honestly, *EVERY* hard game is “easy” once you get a lot of experience on it. Even games like Dark Souls. (I got good at Dark Souls super fast because of my experience in MH)

Literally *EVERY* MH veteran that I know started out as a noob at the game. And it’s only natural that the future games will start looking easy to you after you become good at the previous ones.
In the end, all that matters is to actually enjoy the game for what it is. :) And MHW will get a lot harder in the future too, when we get G Rank in the game.

I''ve beaten Tempered Kirin for the quest instructed in the video and I've killed TONS of tempered elder dragons like Vaal and Teostra. I've still not seen a single stream stone yet that allows me to unlock augmenting. I'm almost starting to wonder if it's a bug at this point with how bad the drop rate is.
I'm not going to really do the "true" endgame stuff. At least not for a while. I'm 96 hours into the game & haven't cleared the ending boss yet. I just wanna take my time and enjoy it with my friends, plus learn how to use more weapons to their full potential. :3 Just having so much fun doing the little things!

far as I'm aware from what I looked at, slot augmentation increases the slot level of slots that already exist but if there are no slots or it's already level 3 it will add a new slot
For anyone curious, once you start hunting tempered elders, youll be drowning in gleaming stones, so armor augmenting takes no time at all. I have 3 sets of gear fully unlocked and im only HR 64. Augmenting your weapon is a 1 time deal since youll most likely have a rare 8 weapon, so thats just rng wait til it hits.
The real end game is still decorations. Knowing the exact skills you want for your build, making armor, then slowly replacing the armor with better secondary skills as you shift your build into decorations, and find the perfect combination that grants you as many useful skills as possible, that's the true end game grind. And trust me, with the drop rates of useful decorations being as low as it is, this is going to take a long, LONG time.

Nard Moore augmentation unlocks when you get your first warrior or heroes streamstone drops, which have a chance to drop from the blue rewards from tempered quests.

question for anyone: In area 3 in wildspire waste, i found a group of 3 critters. they're like a feral tribe of the palicos that will usually help you, but these guys have like tiki masks and are territorial. they get pissy if you get close to them, and attack if you don't go away. they hit you pretty hard with a variety of status effects, but stay close to their area and won't chase you far. i can't find anything on Google or youtube, so figured I'd ask here and find out if anyone else had run into these little guys, and if they're there for anything in particular

Augmenting Slot is depending on Weapons Rarity, not by random. Rare 8 for 1 slot, Rare 7 for 2 slots and Rare 6 for 3 slots.
Doesn’t this suggest that a G Rank DLC isn’t going to happen? Because once the DLC drops, if it even does, these augmented weapons will be reset because the Weapons now go up to G Rank? Just an honest question, and I’d be interested in your thoughts on that.

Y'all are crazy! I was probably close to 200 hrs before beating the two tempered Bazels. You could have caught me just crawling around in the mud finding bugs and looking at ants. Was so psyched to have it on my flat screen and look so beautiful.

it is possible but if you don’t have the right gear it will be easier doing it with other players who have the right gear.
I've got a funny story about that, So I reached 49 and tried taking on the tempered Kirin with this other dude, He died then when he came back got hit again, I go for the health booster and he turns the kirin towards me and it hits me with a one shot.
Told me to sell my game and eat ****, so I leave, try it solo, beat it, screenshot it, posted to him and send him a friend request.
Also I'm rank 50 now (Yay)
Moral of the story is that sometimes, solo is better.
I actually killed Arch Tempered Kirin twice by myself so it's possible to do pretty much any mission alone.
Its better to solo things then doing it multiplayer, but if you have some good friends who play the game and you guys are a good team, Any monster will bow before you.
You know you have good buddies when they roast you when you faint during hunts.

I had high hopes and low expectations for that game. I don't regret buying D2, the thing I do regret is how the developers are running the game. Unfortunately nothing I can do about that. They don't listen to their community and being someone who has at least a 1000+ hours in D1 it upsetting to see it dying like it is.
You can unlock augmenting as soon as you unlock your Hunter Rank the first time, any tempered monster you fight as a chance of dropping Warrior stones and as soon as you find one it will unlock augmenting... I got my first one and therefore augmenting at rank 31

You need one of the weapon stones to start augmenting your gear. You wont see the option until that stone drops so keep hunting Tempered elders.

Is HR gained retroactively from quests before HR limit break? I have completed the story yesterday and was immediately HR29 with double Bazel quest unlocked. Or is it perhaps a bug?

Look for tempered elder drag tracks on expeditions. Once you find a bunch you get an investigation.
thrash361 Do they have to be in the same expedition? I can only find about 1 of the floor scooping marks for tempered elder dragons in each map and in a very specific location at every map, like I get 1 Daora gnashes on the floor next to the Rathalos nest in the Ancient forest and in the Kushala nest in the Elder's Recess... I don't know what to do really...
There is only one in each map (elder recess can have up to 3 though), so no it doesn't have to be the same expedition. Just go to one area go straight to the track, then go to another and do the same. Rinse and repeat till you get the investigation. When on the investigation be sure to pick up tracks and break parts so you get more points towards the next ones.
Thanks for the tutorial out of all of them yours truly helped me I was HR 60 and using hammer the whole time not knowing we need to beat tempered dragons with the charged blade or the other specific weapons I was getting frustrated.
No just hunt tempered elder dragons with any weapon you want, it doesn’t have to be the charge blade.
I think the Affinity augment is only 5% after the first 10% level up. Maybe double check that m8

Never mind! I'll stick with not augmenting cause I'm not about to grind for something very rare. This video reminded me why I stopped playing. The drops are just never there to begin with. I always feel like I'm doing something wrong no matter what I change.
Pretty sure the Health Regen's "stack with other upgrades" refers to stacking multiple instances of Health Regen on a weapon; not the 1 skill that actually increases healing(Recovery Up). I mean it could stack with Recovery Up, but I doubt it.
I'm going to get so much hate for this, but i'm pretty much done with MH World in terms of content. 100+ Hours, Augmentation unlocked, most armors and weapons i want ive made already. Theres nothing left to do. That's the problem without G Rank on Release. And not to mention this MH is the least content filled in a long long time, in terms of the amount of monsters and such. I'll just have to wait for DLC, or go play MHXX on the Switch to fill the gap.

I feel for you, but most ppl aren’t like this 2-3 weeks post release. Granted I’m almost 70 hours in but I’m just now fighting Nergigante the first time and i know for a fact I’m gonna be over 100 hours by endgame. Gotta give yourself some time in between or this is what happen

You can get tempered elder dragon investigations from regular tempered monsters tracks from high rank expeditions so pick up all tempered tracks while on high rank expeditions. You need luck to get a weapon streamstone from the tempered monsters or elder dragons investigations to unlock the augmentation option at the smithy. That’s the only way so get farming... I didn’t get one until HR 58 which was today. Im now HR 60 with fully augmented Vaal Hazak armor set :D
Amount of augment slots for weapons are dependent on the ending rank for that weapon. A rank 8 weapon has 1 slot, 2 for 7 and 3 for 6.

Hey Arekkz, will you be making a video on going in depth on augmenting? I've hit a wall on what to put into certain weapons/builds and I've found your advice to always helpful.
I could not think of better examples of how to properly install "chase" in a game centered AT ITS CORE, looting. There is sooooooooo much to do, so much to master, so much to grind, but none of it is out of reach with some good dedication and focus. For every weapon type (14) there's 2 or 3 that stand way out for the player's playstyle, and for every playstyle there's a broad spectrum of full sets that are worth chasing after, as well as a few min-max-er sets. And when those aren't enough, there are for the truly dedicated and focused, augmented abilities, still within reach. And every single bit is earned through progression as a player learning the game. And the best part is that end game gear still doesn't guarantee you're playing god mode with the looming threat of still being one-shot-ed. You can still lose your edge, still lose a hunt, but even that gives the chase for succeeding next time.
Gods, Beyond the Blasting Scales was almost the death of me. Then I watched your video on tempered monsters and felt better about it. Solo'd it after 2 tries.

My friend killed 148 vaal, 68 Teostra, 48 kushala and 32 Kirin and the 148 vaal gave him the hero streamstone for the great sword. he has over 3 of every other weapon ( heroes streamstone)

You don't have to beat the game for the first tempered monsters actually. I just got done with the Kushala tracking (having already beaten Vaal Hazak) and on my runs for Daora's tracks, and later Teostra's, I've already found those blue tracks for Tobi Kadachi, Pukei-Pukei, Anjanath and Barroth *and* unlocked an investigation with a tempered Jyura (no idea what its full name is). I don't know what you can do with the rewards for that quest just yet tho, because I didn't actually try to do it yet

If tempered elder dragon quests show up as investigations, how do you specifically make those investigations show up? Do you just keep fighting the tempered Kirin until you get an investigation you want?
Xach Slash After getting the Tempered Kirin quest and completing it, there's a chance you'll get a Tempered Elder Dragon investigation when finding Tempered Monster tracks in expedition mode. So just look for blue monster tracks.
Pureeey does it matter what tracks? Because in maps like wildspire there are tone of tracks but all of them say level 1 threat level. Tracks in elder recess, on the other hand, give threat level 2 but there’s often only 1 or 2 tracks and it’s not enough to activate an investigation.

If you can find an SOS that has a tempered monster, join them and then just follow that monster for its tracks. I joined a tempered Kushala and he left behind a lot of tracks.
So if you can upgrade your armor infinite times, could you theoretically upgrade it to make it seem like Tempered elders are LR monsters?

The real endgame is when your hunter character finally grows too old to continue hunting with their brittle bones, but one day runs off in the middle of the night to re-enact the first quest they ever did with hunting a few Jagras in the Ancient Forest. Managing to kill them all, they rest their body on the pile of Jagras corpses and peacefully die with a smile across their face, firmly holding a small memento from their late Felyne partner.
