Arcane Element makes your guns' projectiles scale off the elemental damage value, but it doesn't remove your physical damage entirely. Other cards/abilities still care about it so it can't just be replaced. That hissing is just the fire sound of the Book of Light's lasers. You do shoot quite quickly with the machine gun after all! And the 'boss alert sound' was the Obelisk being recharged. It's been written rather poorly, but I think the Trickster effect here 18:12 reads as "Fire rate increases based on the % difference between Elemental and Weapon damage, the smaller the difference, the more fire rate you get". Since you had a difference higher than 90%, it provides no bonus. The ability you took a minute later helps to understand it in comparison but it's still a hard effect to compress down to a lower word count. After the bosses, there's a small button below the 3 reward choices. I'm curious about what it does.
Hmm, that's not what the tooltips says, though. We definitely need better/more tooltips. The mysterious button also caught my interest, but there is no tooltip. I wonder if it spawns an obelisk.
The slowdown you were getting with her movement was with the fireball barrage, you essentially lose control of your character (including jumps) and it slows you while it fires. The white crystal from that obelisk does a couple of seconds of stop time intermittently but you generally kill so fast it's not really noticed.
Definitely some work ahead on this one for fleshing out the systems and the soundscape---but it has a certain charm to it and plenty of room to further differentiate with the platforms and whatnot. Massive update to Scarlet Tower recently as well.

the shield is that you get an additional shield on top of your health, you can see your health go above max and become yellow when you pick it up

grabbed it for steam deck, seems a little cranky, touch screen crashing but key pad seems to work
