Wow, just WOW! a great Christmas present from the Welsh Valleys. I've seen that sort of thing just once in my life, 43 years ago in the French Alps just emerging from a rain storm and to be honest you had the better light. One of those days when it really did pay to get up and go an see! Thank you. I wouldn't worry about the straight through pipe. It will seem louder to you than any observer as you are sitting on top of it for the whole ride. It's a small capacity bike and a four stroke at that. Also given the type of roads your travelling on you're not going to be revving the nuts off it anyway. The only issue might be if you come across horses where it would be advisable to pull over and let them go about their business. All the best for the New Year Ian
Looking down onto Dragon's Breath is always special. Thank you for sharing!! I see someone suggested shoving VW tail pipe silencers up your pipe. Instant top-end performance death!! In pipe mutes are always detrimental and I have removed them several times from various customers underperforming bikes.
Seasons Greetings from Shropshire Paul, nice run out on the Cub. We get a similar effect here from the top of the Clee Hill. It looks like you could ride across to the 'islands' in a sea of candy floss. Magical stuff! We rode out Christmas Day in similar weather, only problem was visor fogging up as we rode in and out of the valleys. Cheers Phil
Thanks again Love watching you ride your favorite circuit(s). Today-stunning,indeed. Especially since here it's,20F,snow on the ground, and salt on the road. "You Must Believe in Spring"
A very pleasant ride out Paul , thanks . Amazing how a few hundred feet in elevation can change your perception of the weather , as you said above the cloud base , stunning . Re the noise levels of the cub , I put some VW beetle silencers on the end of the downpipes of my T90 . Still kept the "cool" look of straight through pipes but not quite so loud . Something to consider perhaps . All the best to you and yours for the new year and to all your subscribers .
Fantastic views but I would have to put a silencer on it as it would drive me Cuckoo in a short space of time each to their own though all the best 👍👍👍
Brilliant views! Not much wrong with that engine. If it was mine, I'd put a silencer on it but not just for the noise (I don't object to the volume of a scrambler) but because of an experience I had with another bike, ages ago. The baffles fell out of the exhaust (it was a Honda twin and it happened on each side almost at the same time) and the engine lost the small amount of bottom-end torque that it had. I fitted new, standard exhausts and it ran better than ever it had before. Very nice video.
Your nun silencer is not loud, what it is regrettably is a trifle annoying. If you compare it with the nun silencer on a Merlin engined Spitfire, which is noisy, but sounds very nice. Even better when the Lancaster flies over. Of course, when you travel through the village past any pedestrian, they never turn or stair. So I suspect it is the position of the microphone is causing most of the annoyance. When you are waiting to pull out to cross over the main road, the noise of the tyres from the passing traffic is also noticeably loud. I was more interested in the views above the cloud. They were rather special.
Stealing another nation's motto: Land of the Long White Cloud. Just a bit worried for you, mate, when you were riding in the foggy conditions with no lights. Stay safe.
