    Any of us could buy the marmalade, but I think the most enjoyable thing of homemade goods is the process, it requires attention and patience, in other words being present 💜.

    This video was really worth the wait - 38 minutes filled with beautiful footage, creative DIY projects and one of your great short stories 🥰 just delightful to watch with a cup of tea after a long day at work! I love how all the parts of the video flowed into each other so seamlessly. Now I'm really in the mood to reread The Chronicles of Narnia - I have a wonderfully illustrated edition that my parents gave me many years ago, and I love the stories so much. I am a little late on this, but what a charming video! I cannot wait to see what you put up in your shop! I hope it goes well for you! I wish we grew oranges here in Alaska. But to my knowledge, they cannot grow here. We have lots of other things! I love picking berries in the fall! It is a big thing here!

    • @MeadowAfternoon
      @MeadowAfternoon  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Joanna, Thank you so much for your encouragement. Alaska looks beautiful. From what I've seen (from You Tube videos) I like the hunting and outdoor culture in Alaska. We don't have wild berries like that here, do you make jam or freeze them?

    • @itzakpoelzig330
      @itzakpoelzig330 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They figured out a way to grow oranges in Russia, so the same would probably work in Alaska? I'm no expert, but it involved digging a deep trench on a south-facing slope and growing the trees in it so that their roots would be below the freeze-line. During the winter they covered the trenches over with glass or clear plastic. The trees had to be pretty short, I guess. It's probably not economically viable on the large scale, but could be done on the family scale by someone with a big yard (and a love of oranges).

    • @Thialeana
      @Thialeana ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeadowAfternoon I have made jam before out of the berries but we haven't froze it yet. That is a good idea! I'm not much of hunter. But I do love foraging and picking berries!

    • @Thialeana
      @Thialeana ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@itzakpoelzig330 It is possible maybe one day? There is a brilliant lady here in Alaska who owns a company called Sipping Streams Tea in Fairbanks. She actually created the world's very first artic greenhouse using the hot springs in Fairbanks. So maybe we could grow oranges in that method!

Would love to know where one could find the white plastic looking tool you used during card making and some of the different other pens and items you use. Thank you for sharing the story of the tradition of marmalade making in your home. So cozy!!

    • @itzakpoelzig330

      That tool is a bone folder, although of course many are made of plastic these days.

    • @MeadowAfternoon
      @MeadowAfternoon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sue, Thank you so much for watching 🌿 As the other commenter mentioned, the white tool was a bone folder. The black pens I used were the Staedtler Pigment liners. I used watercolor paints, double sided tape and foam squares just to give a few of the other supplies. I am working on creating a blog where I can put full lists of supplies, recipes etc.

  • @karensaville913
    @karensaville913 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello...just lovely...one thought can you list items used ..as in paint and paper tools etc I feel this would help greatly..also the ads drove me mad

    • @MeadowAfternoon
      @MeadowAfternoon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I will work on creating list of supplies used. Thank you for the suggestion. As for the ads, monetization means I can hopefully make the channel sustainable in the long term. In order to make free to watch content there has to be some way of funding the videos. The ads are a small but important part of this.
