- Happy Thursday, fellow Cottagecore enthusiasts! 🌼🍃 Thank you for joining me today for a special video, perhaps a bit different from my normal content.
After relaunching the Cottagecore book, many of you reached out to say how inspiring was to know that I don’t live in a cottage or in the countryside and how useful my tips were. So I thought I would share some thoughts and excerpts from that book with all of you. My Cottagecore journey is not a perfect one and my last ten years have been far from slow. But for me, it is the little changes and achievements that matter the most and I feel that I have many of them to celebrate. Never give up on your dreams or get discouraged about your current situation, work on them day by day, step by step, and I promise you, each little win is such a rewarding feeling.

This was one of my favorite videos and so you know I just built my own cottage a few months ago and even though I have a “real” cottage. It is step by step. Because I’m from the city and everything was a rat race and about money and multitasking. I am realizing how frazzled I was and learning to love slower and healthier. So you are doing great.

It can really be a challenge to do things slowly and just enjoy the task at hand, such as baking or painting, without feeling like we’re “wasting time” or being “selfish”. We in fact need these moments, even if it’s not every day. Eventually it can become your lifestyle. I think we need to surround ourselves with things that make us happy regardless of where we are. It doesn’t need to be all at once either. Thank you for continuing to inspire us. 💕

Oh, it was such a good idea to save this video for the weekend: your soothing, almost poetic voice-over and the beautiful shots of your cosy home go perfectly with a cup of tea and the little strawberry tartlet I'm enjoying right now ☺️🍓 for me, "cottagecore" is not actually linked to a cottage or a life in the country. As you say: there are so many things that evoke that certain cottagecore feeling in you, no matter where you live. Living mindfully, doing things by hand, enjoying the moment, baking, gardening or embroidering... you can do that almost anywhere. Even though a fireplace you can sit by a rainy day to do your activities is of course an especially great thing 😉 I wish you a wonderful weekend!

We moved to the country 6 years ago. I have slowed my mind, but still feel the need to do several things at once. Life is much better now that I left the rat race, but I still need to work on myself.

What a beautiful video, again :) We all need dreams, however old we are and I truly hope you get your cottage in the country one day - just as you like it. In the meantime you have created it for us to share and I thank you for that. In my own life I am nearly there because, like you, I live in my dreams and I do have many of the things that you describe as cottagecore. I am thankful for what I have on a daily basis and make the most of every minute that I have to enjoy it. Today I am planting 8 herbs to use later on. I am playing with my new puppy and I am enjoying a fabulous lilac tree in my pretty garden. I bake my own bread, pies and cakes and although they don't look as professional as yours, they all taste lovely and are much appreciated by my family. Tonight I will drink cocoa and start a new book and when I turn out the light I will leave the curtains partly open so I can see the stars.

Helen here again, I haven't appeared in almost 3 months because I was busy and couldn't follow the video but I'm glad to be back, I like the cottage and how everything is organized, when I was little I spent quite a lot of time at the cottage in my grandfather, but he passed away when I was in school, and I rarely went to the village anymore, but when I come there, I remember him, and I dream of living in the countryside, although I live in the city, but I can already imagine how would live in nature, of course there are pros and cons, but I have such a desire, so thank you for this video, I have renewed childhood memories with love Helen 💛

Absolutely beautiful and so very true. We are lucky enough to live in a 300 year old cottage in a tiny village in Essex England and it was always my dream to have one. From such an early age. It’s only a 2 up, 2 down home but is my everything. My dad used to say that he wished he had one too. I would of loved to of given him one of his own. But couldn’t unfortunately. But I did say to him, that actually, inside were just 4 walls, the same as in his flat. And it’s what you do to it that counts. He took this onboard and put much more thought and love into it. Buying little things like throws, cosy cushions and small items of decor. It really made a difference for him. He put more love into his little home and enjoyed it much more.
Your home is so beautiful as there is so much love put into it. I so enjoy seeing it.

Oh how I wish I was able to think like this when I was younger. From the moment I left school, having babies, working 12 hour days and rushing around doing what I thought was expected of me, my life was a big ball of stress. It was only 8 years ago that I had decided enough. My 2 eldest children were in Uni and my 2 youngest said they no longer wanted to live in the city. Big move but very much worth it. My youngest lives with me so our cottage is enough, not perfect as it was built in 1858, but we're happy. We have animals and land to grow food and i know I'm finally home. We don't need all the latest gadgets or fancy cars etc but making things and using preloved items means so much more and for some reason I appreciate it moreso. Your home is magickal, and when you do find your little cottage I'm sure it will be just incredible. Thankyou for this Indoora, your words really touch so many people. Much love Liana 😊

I have heart cut out furniture I've been collecting from thrift stores and antique stores. My favorite piece is a pie chest I use as extra pantry space but I've been looking for a heart cut out chair so ofcourse I spotted the one in your video. The heart furniture is so sweet cottage core to me.

Thank you for this beautiful video. It really is step by step and I think for me, it is learning how to slow down life again, like when I was a child. This video rings so true for me. My life dream was to live in a cottage in snowdonia. I am in my 50's now and that is highly unlikely. I was low because my dream could never happen but your words here have helped so much. I now feel inspired to create my cottage life in my home. Thank you for the inspiration and helping me achieve a different dream. ❤

I will turn 36 this Saturday and owing a cottage -or even just renting one in the countryside- feels so unrealistic right now. I ❤ cottage core. I think I'm partially achieving this little by little. I read, crochet, make crafts, paint, light candles, and bake and have a patio garden. Yet, I make a mess! You are much neater than I am😂. Guess that's one of the points I'm going to have to work on🤭 even though I clean up after. You have a gift of placement and coordinated colors. Your place resonates with wholesomeness and everything you do has such depth. It is truly in the little things that make a house a home.🌻🌿

Thank you Muriel! 🥰🤎 unfortunately I don’t have copper pots, are the ones from the seventies dangerous or from a toxic material? I found them at a charity shop but I wasn’t aware of any issues. The series is supposed to be set on 1977 so it kind of helps.

These pots are out of the time that you want to represent and most important they are not very healthy.
When you use them, some microparticules come on the food and can bring some sickness as cancer.
It will be better not to use them.
