Man that was awesome! I loved racing back in the mid ‘80’s.. such a challenge to keep it in its very narrow power band, and the tall gears!! The 750’s were much more forgiving about dropping a gear.. (but these light weight monsters are amazing)!!
There's an 11 mile stretch of road where I live and I swear if they closed it off once a year for a time trial I would be ON IT!!! I have driven it in an impatient fugue so many times and it just gets easier and faster... KNOWING a road is quite a THING.. Consider this though.. hardly ANY of these Hero/GENIUS riders actually live on the Island....? ~HOW MUCH PRACTICE CAN THEY GET?!?!

Yes, but two strokes have a lot less engine braking than four strokes, so it is much harder to get control the speed having to use more brakes to compensate you are constantly in danger of locking the wheels. A problem that would be worse in the rain. I don't know how they remember every turn, any confusion about where they are doesn't bear thinking about. Amazing riders.

I had a 1985? RG500 for a couple of years. Got too many speeding tickets and his honour suggested I sell it. Best handling bike I ever had.
