for your basil plant, you always want to start from the top of the plant and want to clip the stem just ABOVE a leaf node (where a set of leaves joins the stem). you see those little darker "bulbs" where the leaf stem branches out from the main stem? that's where new basil leaves will grow. also make sure to water it after you harvest to promote new growth.
I think you forgot garlic . A simply tomato sauce has tomato sauce , garlic and basil. You can infuse the oil with garlic and remove it OR leave it in. But garlic is a must lol
Love the passion you have for food and the care you give to serving your family and the ones you love. I’ve been watching you for the past few years and have noticed that in all of your videos. Thank you so much!
I’ve been watching Quan for about 3 years now and I remember back in Algebra class some kid said “order 69” and the lesson that was being taught I remembered it so well and on my finals I didn’t mess up a single question for that topic
Mushroom seasoning helps the body and Worcester sauce helps enhance the flavor. MSG will also help the robustness. Definitely add garlic powder and onion powder.
This is it. I eat this all day long and folks think I’m nuts. Real rustic Italian cuisine is simple and to the point. No fluff, no guff. Just simple ingredients to end. Perfection.
The parmesan rind is used often to toss in the pasta sauce to give the sauce flavor. The rind just cooks along with the pasta sauce and it thickens the sauce a little giving it a sorta salty flavor. Also Quang you can refreeze the rind for up to 18 months. I think the outside of the rind is parmesan cheese but it's just the aged exterior. You're spaghetti looked so delicious 😋
Yes!!! One of my favorite ways to eat pasta! Try taking it out of the water a bit earlier, and let it finish cooking in thecae till ready, take off the heat, THEN add your cheese and sauce will become creamy, add a bit of the pasta water as you go, if needed, there will be no"string" from the cheese..plus black pepper and a bit of red pepper flakes...AMAZING! All the bets to you!!
There's a recipe I learn a long while back. It was a stewed tomato recipe. Olive oil, two whole onions sweated in the pot, and then diced plum tomatoes. Cook it for a couple hours, then finish it in a pan with al dente pasta. Top with fresh parsley.
Was planning on just putting a supermarket pizza in the oven, but after watching this I just had to make some tasty pure tomato sauce pasta, thanks for reminding me how much better that is 👌Simple just can be so good with just the right ingredients, that's why I love Italian food!
Sometimes in Italy we use the crust of Parmigiano when we make soup as minestrone or, even better, pasta e fagioli. It gives a little bit of more taste
It's hard to say what is the best pasta dish but i eat the classic spaghetti bolognese most often. I've seen that they cook the rind from the cheese in the tomato sauce because it adds flavor to the dish. You made a big pan of delicious looking pasta there, glad you enjoyed it !! ❤
I have the same addiction my friend, it's just that i enjoy mine with chopsticks because i've always watched you use them, eversince the first carbonara and chicken video!
To take this sauce up a level, oven roast the tomato first, ghis will give you a real intense sweet flavour. When using tomato paste needs to ve cooked out for a good 5 mins, or untill you see oil seeping out, this needs to vs done before addng any other ingredients, you also need to valance that tartnesswith some sugar or some sherry vinegar or balsamic and pinch sugar
Those tomatoes 🍅 almost got barbecue with that fire 🔥 for a moment Quang lol 😆 But this is a recipe imma try cuz I'm a big spaghetti lover. You did a wonderful job on this. That cheese was a great addition I bet. Have a bless one
@@lovelyapril1785 Wow that's awesome you make your own Spaghetti sauce. I bet it's just as good as what we saw in this video 😁 I need to try to make my own sauce one day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I wish you a blessed day April 🙏🏽✨
I get what you're saying about Italian food. I think it's probably just like that when you're not super familiar with the cuisine and aren't sure of what type nuances to look out for in the flavors or ingredients. For example, I bet you could try out pho from different restaurants and tell all types of different things about the cooking process, ingredients, etc. That's because you've made it yourself on many occasions and spent a lot of time perfecting your own recipe.
If u want storebaught basil from the store to survive plant them in a bigger pot, the pot most storebaught herbs come in are to small so it dies and u need to buy new herb.
5:38 If your meaning is "Family Style" chain restaurants, than those are sub-par at best. There cutting corners and using the cheapest ingredients possible. Now, if you're talking a true Mom n Pop Italian restaurant, those are the places that take pride in their food because they're passing down legacies from their nonna.
I just have one word. Or one name. Lionfield 😂😂😂 They made a whole channel on rather the Italian food TH-camrs cook is approved or not! I truly hope you make it to Italy one day!
For me, and I'm Italian, is real butter a little olive oil with fresh garlic slightly cooked, then add pasta. You can add parmesan on top and bon appetite! Simple and delicious.😊
Yo that pasta looks bomb! You’re missing garlic though. And should’ve put the rind into the sauce for more umami and flavour! I would have put some sausage in as well. What a meal! Sometimes the best food is the simplest homecooked ones!
Cherry tomatoes and onions cooked the same way with a little salt n pepper, add some eggs to it. Eat it with some hot fresh homemade tortillas and a piece of salty cheese 🤤 😋!!!
Omg that looks so lush, I love and don’t shout 😬😬 I love spaghetti pasta with Heinz tomato soup and grated cheese on top, I cheat and do with a tin 😬😬 anyways much love as always ❤❤😊
What is the best PASTA DISH?
Chicken Bacon Alfredo Pasta
I love a simple meat sauce with linguine
Shrimp Alfredo
Shrimp Alfredo
Carbonara is fantastic
I get it. I can eat whatever I want but sometimes I just crave a simple, clean, fresh spaghetti with tomato sauce. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated.

... You say 'Family'.. yet his wife never took a bite, and his newborn youd never feed that to a baby. Soooo.......
I’ve been watching Quan for about 3 years now and I remember back in Algebra class some kid said “order 69” and the lesson that was being taught I remembered it so well and on my finals I didn’t mess up a single question for that topic
I don’t care how long it’s been or where I’m at when Quang unloads I’m clicking so fast no skips! Love you bro
Best pasta dish is Quang's pasta dish!
Sometimes, simplicity can be satisfying with just a simple dish.
Perfection.
Hair cut looks great!! Dinner looks amazing ❤ Can’t wait to try this 😊
100% agree with my boy quan. Best cook snd youtuber ever
Vincenzo’s plate would be impressed. Just use EVOO and garlic. Top the finished pasta with more fresh basil.
Thank you for this tip and information my friend
Food and life is such a beautiful thing. DONT YOU THINK. Hey Quan 👋🏾
I really hope Vincenzo and/or Lionfield (Matteo and Emiliano) review your recipe! It would be an awesome collab
Put the rind in the sauce to impart flavor or save it /freeze it to flavor soup!
I love when you cook and eat pasta! Keep cooking! I’ve made some of the recipes and it turned out amazing ❤
Yes!!! One of my favorite ways to eat pasta! 1:05 If you have a lid or another pan the cover that, suffocating the fire is the best way to deal with a grease fire.
Looks amazing! Add garlic and use extra virgin olive oil instead and you have perfection!

Spaghetti, Pasta, etc. Supreme comfort food. The simple pleasures of life.🍝
I make this often. I love the freshness of the tomatoes.
Was planning on just putting a supermarket pizza in the oven, but after watching this I just had to make some tasty pure tomato sauce pasta, thanks for reminding me how much better that is 👌Simple just can be so good with just the right ingredients, that's why I love Italian food!
Put the rind in the sauce when you cook it. Gives it good flavor!
That's my favorite food ever. Simple tomato sauce spag. ❤
Sometimes in Italy we use the crust of Parmigiano when we make soup as minestrone or, even better, pasta e fagioli. It gives a little bit of more taste
Garlic #1 game changer in that recipe, also soup and salad go before pasta and other courses not after
0:45 I usually just pick the leaves that I need, preferably the bigger leaves. I wouldn't cut the main stems.
I would use peeled whole canned tomatoes and add the basil much later in the cooking process.
Looks great Chef!!
With the rinds you add that to the sauce to help thicken it up and add flavor.. then you take it out and discard it!! Just an fyi.. love your videos!!
I love plain spaghetti with tomato sauce And hidden valley ranch dressing
It's hard to say what is the best pasta dish but i eat the classic spaghetti bolognese most often. I've seen that they cook the rind from the cheese in the tomato sauce because it adds flavor to the dish. You made a big pan of delicious looking pasta there, glad you enjoyed it !! ❤
So well spoken about the simple things in life ❣️🌈
I have the same addiction my friend, it's just that i enjoy mine with chopsticks because i've always watched you use them, eversince the first carbonara and chicken video!
Same for Mexican food!!! But definitely chili in almost everything but not ALL the meats! 🙏🙏🙏✌🏼

Add garlic too and at the end, pour some olive oil on the pasta
As Italian I recommend you fry the shallot in extra virgin olive oil😊
This is my favourite combination, and nothing more except some garlic and sour cream
Looks real good! I crave simple pasta too! Only thing missing is a splash of quality EVOO before serving!
Another great video! And it was a little longer than usual, yeah! ❤
Pasta looks amazing!!!😮
I love pasta! Your sauce looks delicious
Love the simple recipes. I would say sweeter cherry tomatoes would work better.
Spaghetti and tomato sauce is literally my favorite food!!! It's simple and has such a big impact on flavor. What's not to like.
"Ain't gonna lie, that did kinda startle me a little bit" 😂
You need to make more simple recipes like this Q
3:50 You can actually take that rind and stew in a sauce. There a sauce recipe for that. I can't remember where I saw it, though.

Just missing some garlic ❤❤❤❤ but looks wonderful 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
The only chain restaurant that I’ve tasted that comes close to real Italian is “Carrabas” …if u can find one in Canada, get some
Throw the cheese rind in the sauce, take it out before serving. I save mine in the freezer and use it whenever I make sauce.
😎👍🏻👍🏻
Yum 😊 love pasta but my heart burn so bad n sensitive ❤
5:38 If your meaning is "Family Style" chain restaurants, than those are sub-par at best. There cutting corners and using the cheapest ingredients possible.

Mi favorite foods are pho, bahn mi po boys and spaghetti w/salt and pepper

Spaghetti is one of my favorite meals!!❤😮
I just have one word. Or one name. Lionfield 😂😂😂
