How to White Balance Correctly!

- When I first started creating videos, I always wondered why my videos looked bad. I would spend hours trying to colour grade a clip and then give up because it wasn’t grading the way I want. I realized how important setting your white balance before shooting is.
LOG is only a picture profile that desaturates and flattens your image to get the most dynamic range, colours and details out of your clip. It’s not like shooting in RAW, you don’t have full control of your white balance.

Hey, i have 1 question. There are 3 cards; white, grey, and black. When do we use white? When do we use grey? And black?
I actually white balance using the iPhone Blackmagick app and apply the reading to my camera. iPhone white balance is insanely accurate.
how do you use it? just by letting the app auto white balance and using that temperature?
This is smart! I’ll try this
Honestly thats genius,Thanks!
How do you make your photos/videos look glowy like this one?
Pro mist filter
That filter > our in post add halation
Either Black pro mist 1/8th - 1/4
Or what I recommend, 1/8th Glimmer Glass (From K&F Concept) - it's better glass than Tiffen's
Great share 🎉
Thank you 🤗
can you please provide a link?

Men i have a question which better Than 2 type of grey card? 1 your currently have or the one that circle style pls answer my question thanks
You can use the lens cap to adjust wb
How ?
@@jamessepulveda189 its the sensor cap apparently its 50% grey so just go set a custom wb and have the cap in front of the lens
@@M_santana26 ah so instead of the grey card use the cap?
@@jamessepulveda189 yup give it a try
for sony
Tnx capt obvious
canada and mexico colors 🤣
I’m gonna ask something like stupid.
But I justa did this and my yellows light in my room they just turned white.. now is not accurate as the original temperature… is this good to do videos?
It's not! That is a good example why it is not always a good idea to set your white balance according to your light source. White doesn't have to look ALWAYS (pure) white. In your case I would recommend to set your WB manually, check on your monitor what looks best for you. Do not forget, there is no right or wrong, it's what is best for the style of your video 💯💪🏼
and when you have to deal with that ''memory recall'' problem?
What problem? I set my white balance before every time I shoot!
Nd why u need grey or black?
When editing, you can check the RGB values on the black card to show if your tint or temperature is off. You can then adjust your colour grade to get the RGB values all the same on the black card, than you'll know if your image is properly balanced. As for the grey card, a lot of cameras will allow you to set your white balance to the grey card, but essentially this is middle grey. Put this in front of your face before recording, use a monitor with false colour and make sure the card is falling in the proper IRE levels.
Thanks man, easy to understand and simple! 👍
Awesome to hear!
Silly.
Such expensively over-priced and over-hyped cameras still could not accurately establish proper White Balance.
