Namibia, Through the Burning Deserts | Deadliest Journeys

- Namibia, an expansive and immense territory, stands out as one of the most sparsely populated nations on Earth, with a population of under three million. Amidst the disorderly roads of the northwestern region, beneath the scorching sun, the women from the Himba tribe endure a cramped journey in the bed of an aging pickup truck to attend a funeral. Clad in their traditional attire all year round, these women, regardless of their location, be it the desert or the supermarket, adorn their bodies and hair with a mixture of red powder and grease. However, this style does not resonate with another tribe, the Herero women, who dress akin to the Germans of the early 19th century. They are not hesitant to criticize the Himba, deeming their nakedness in front of the world audacious. Nevertheless, the Himba face numerous other concerns in this arid land, where water scarcity reigns. The women journey across the desert, painstakingly collecting water from puddles formed by infrequent rains. Others transport this precious liquid in antiquated trucks, navigating through dense vegetation to deliver water to isolated villages. Yet, within Namibia, a breakdown on the roadside poses a perilous threat.

Nambibia is great, Nambibia is strong, keep up the spirit my brother, we are in Kalimantan Indonesia, water is very abundant but most of us don't want to take good care of water sources, Nambibia is on the contrary, they really appreciate the water resources in their country, salute you all, greetings from us Dayak people in Kalimantan🙏🙏🙏

Finally-produced reveal --- of Namibia and its history and culture.
Awesome photography and relaxed cultural embeddedness.
You would enjoy the youtuber, Itchy Boots --- as she motorcycles solo across Namibia
She also stays with the Himba --- and like you --- she spoils us with plenty of spectacular drone shots.

The Himba women are so graceful and they have this unapologetic, pleasant feminine confidence .
Be careful you don't want to get a stern dressing down from some weirdo about gender assumptions.

Hey Gideon Russouw, did you see this??
Namibia has a long Atlantic coast. There should be desalination plants to convert sea water into drinking and irrigation water and that water should be piped hundred of miles into the interior of the country. All the electric power to supply the whole world can be generated by solar panels installed in Namibian deserts.
The cost to build one F35 war plane can build a dozen desalination plants.

The government should do something to help these people. There should be a way to provide them with water. Otherwise they will soon be history. I really felt bad seeing these beautiful people struggling to get water.

Thanks for the video
Excellente documental.
I heard a little bit of their conversations, the hareros are somewhat complaining about the over exposure of breasts and legs/or thighs by the himba. Funny how bantu languages connect. The Himba are so polite to stand the complaints!
We bantu have similar words. Am Ugandan and from a bantu tribe and I can hear everything from Zambia Zimbabwe Zulus etc
Which is crazy. That’s THEIR attire. Even they were like that too before they were forced to cover by the Germans. Its completely innocent for them to dress in so little clothing. And it’s too hot to wear layers of fabric🙄
Por muchos vídeos y documentales que vea sobre estos temas,no llego ha asimilarlos. Quiero decir que me cuesta mucho creer que esto suceda en el mundo en pleno siglo 21.Posiblemente sean tan felices como nosotros o más.

There are no subtitles on this one, so we don't know what the Namibia women, etc., are saying. Only reason I can understand some of it is that I can understand the French subtitles.
So I'll give up on this one. But thank you anyway for all the good free documentaries.
The whole ''avoiding anger at all costs'' thing with the tribe people - that's not healthy at all. True, too much anger isn't good, but avoiding an entire spectrum of your emotions is 100 percent unhealthy. It's called repression.
All our emotions are here to be listened to. Not to be avoided. Anger is - like all emtotions - here to tell us something. Often times, what anger tells us is that a boundary of ours has been crossed, or that someone has done something/treated us in a way that is not acceptable to us. It tells us that something is wrong; it's a warning, a way of ensuring that our boundaries are not crossed, among other things.
For some reason, anger has been villified. Some people insist on categorizing emotions into ''negative'' and ''positive''. No such thing exists. All emotions are valid, all are here to be respected and heeded, not ignored.
Emotions become a problem with they are disregulated, ie getting angry at everything all the time for no reason, or anxiety spinning out of control. But. There is a huge difference between dyregulated emotions (which often manifest as a mental health issue, ie Anxiety Disorders) and normal, everyday emotions, ie normal everyday anger.
So. Can your anger become problamatic? Yes. And so can ANY emotion. So if you're the kind of person who vilifies anger, you're not helping yourself, you're just repressing your emotions, which won't work out well.
