What is the purpose of the safety wire on the drain bolt, oil filter and oil fill plug?

The Nimble Ninja I ride this bike at the track and most track day sponsors require you to safety wire the drain plug and filter so that they don’t unintentionally come loose and spill oil on the track.

@@davidvonwolffersdorff2385 Okay that's what I figured but wasn't sure. Thank you for clarifying.

What is the size of that crush washer on the drain bolt. 14mm?

Sorry, I no longer own that bike so I don't know the exact size. I purchased them from the Honda dealer. Good luck!

How do you like the hp4s oil? I have 11' cbr 1000rr and use Motul 300V. My mechanic recommended it. I never know what to use when it comes to oil.

I don't know anything about the Motul oil, but it seems to have a good reputation. I think you're OK with any of the major brands, especially if you're sticking with fully synthetic. Ride safely!

Thanks for your reply. I think I will try the hp4s next time. Your video was good by the way!

I think Motul is a good quality brand. Should be fine. I think your always safe using a name brand.
