So there’s been the latest buzz about Big 12 “could” be a landing spot for FS/Clemson. The original point made was the first choice for them was B1G and SEC and 2nd choice is a revamped ACC. So my question is why is no one considering that if they win the lawsuits, then FSU/Clemson/NCSU/dirty foot club/Duke/Miami/louisville/etc can create a new conference and the remainder would truly be the ACC turning into the AAC

FSU is a top 10 program in national viewership. Actually, #7 in 2023. More than even ND. And, certainly more than Miami.
FSU won 3 games in 2020? Still inside the top 15.
Fsu brings in more national viewership than 85 % of the Big Ten and Sec combined.
    So yea, they have value.

Disruptive Partner = it’s like a star WR in the NFL who’s contract isn’t renewed, and nobody will touch them with a ten foot pole because their attitude, mouthiness, and public antics create a poison in the locker room, and headaches for management. FSU’s attitude and approach throughout this is burning their own bridge. Clemson’s way of handling their business is going to put them in a better landing place because of it.

@@rx2878that was Greg Sankey taking a shot at four different universities on four different occasions in Florida State, UCF, TCU, and Ohio State. You might add Boise State undefeated seasons in the mix and the whining years of pagan propagandist Moron Mormons BYU being excluded from BCS and upper level bowl games but once they made changes to the College Football Postseason Selections for BCS era and NY6/CFP-4 era, they never ever came close to qualifying for a BCS bowl or NY6 bowl, yet added to Big12. Why?
But as the other commenter said, Georgia lost to Alabama in a game they could not afford to lose. Georgia schedule was less or equal to that of Florida State and had too many close calls to justify putting Georgia and Alabama in the playoffs.
This is going to sound conspiracy theorist crazy, but I think many people were expecting Texas to face plant in their conference championship game against Oklahoma State or Florida State take a L from the Louisville. But neither happened.
Now the committee were consistent contrary to what most people think or been saying on social media and on stations and channels across the country. SMU like FSU in second to last regular season games and in conference championship game lost starting quarterback and others but won the conference championship game anyway. So like FSU not getting selected for playoffs, SMU with similar to identical injuries to same players was not selected for NY6 and placed Liberty in with a weaker schedule but won the right to get clobbered.
FSU actually had a tougher schedule and better schedule than Georgia but not better than but equal to Alabama and weaker than Texas, Washington, & Michigan.

Hey guys, all this Big Ten SEC does not want FSU or Clemson are great talking points for a show. But the reality behind all this is that the disruption FSU and Clemson have made in the courts does not happen if both of them if they do not already have a behind closed doors agreement with one of those conferences, so there was a time when the SEC did say they had no interest in Texas and we saw what happened. So it makes for great conversations, but the reality is FSU and Clemson are too big of brands to not have a landing spot!

We all know the GOR is tied specifically to the ESPN media deal. Why would ESPN want to extend it if there’s a risk that FSU and Clemson will leave. Either ESPN will walk away, or the ACC can use this to get more money out of ESPN to get all the ACC teams more money and raise FSU and Clemson payout. But to just say that let’s wait until 2036, it just shows how bad of a Commissioner Jim Phillips really is.

The member schools hadn't counted on the ACC falling so far behind in revenues and prestige. If the ACC represented the member school luke they bring lawsuits for them wanting to leave you probably would have teams heading to the exit door!!!

Fs and Clemson best bet is independent. If they are that good there are networks that will pay. Acc exist long before fs joined and i can't see the acc breaking up when they do. We live in an age that football is boss, and teams wing now has a lot to say. However, it take a teams to make a conference. Unfortunately the teams winning now are taking all the glory, that they are making all the money for the conference.
Espn started this mess paying the SEC big money, if i was the ACC commish i would make them pay a better amount closer to the SEC, or give me back my tier 2 to resale. CW would pay more, network such as prime, tnt, tbs and apple all want sports. Big ten is not making money off tox, it was when cbs and nvc step in and add on to what fox was paying for tier 1. Big 12 screwed up , rushing out to make a deal and never thought about getting 3 or more net works. When acc contract review comes up in 26 i would ask for more fund and a game to sell to other networks.

You're making FSU'S point. The outcome of these court cases will likely change the way these games are financed. It will likely be so influential that schools outside of the power conferences won't be able to compete. Then, schools like Vanderbilt and Mississippi State will overpower schools like FSU and OK State.
The case against conferences like the big 12 and acc is that there are schools that want to compete nationally that will ultimately be phased out of they don't take these financial decisions seriously.
FSU won't be the only school to be locked out of the new order, but they'll certainly be the biggest!

You still don't get it. There is a wide variation of uncertainty taking place in the administration of overall college sports...even then these issues are tertiary compared to macro issues effecting the economy of college and universities.
The Judge overseeing this NCAA case is from the Northern California district. You surely don't understand the significance of that or that the overall appearance instability caused by college football decisions doesn't bode well for any conference. This case is about the compensation of student athletes not the preservation of a college football hierarchy.
She may rule that the proposed settlement is insufficient or inequitable to schools like Houston Christian easily. Doubling the burden share on the power conferences. All of these events are more important than FSU grievances.
The B1G and other conferences may choose to close down expansion to keep enough profit for, liabilities, unions, title IX or protect themselves from the legalities.
FSU can be left out because they are the headache...that's not worth another headache.
No school is entitled to "compete."
No school is entitled to be in a conference. Oregon state & Washington state are not in a conference even though Washington state could make the argument that they have been accustomed to being in a conference for over a century. That's 100 years. There are hundreds of FBS and FCS schools legally all the same.
College football is not that important in the grand scheme of things. college football is not a legal right.

@rx2878 as much as I agree with the uncertainty, as well as these being "more important than FSU grievances", the FSU claim is that the ACC is not taking the steps necessary to mitigate these changes by being more aggressive with fund raising, and it has plagued the conference and it's members for years. These actions have resulted in a vote of no confidence that the ACC could manage the changing landscape of college athletics, whether or not the ACC remains a power conference. As a matter of fact, the ACC just signed a document this summer that shows the ACC isn't functioning aggressively for higher revenues that would certainly affect: profits (though conferences are non-profit entities), liabilities, unions, title 9, legalities, etc. You're right about another thing, these university presidents might suggest they close up shop, but they might also see there's tons of money to be made by each university that must pay athletes as state employees. That would require someone to do the math to see what is an appropriate wage, per university or per conference, and what would a players association be empowered to do. All the while ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion according to title 9 and the protections and engagements for enforcement. Would that be handled as it is now, at the individual institutions, or at the conference level? Either way, FSU is trying to be proactive rather than sit and wait like the conference is.

IMHO, FSU was on the glide path to the B1G, but burned bridges to the point that the B1G won't take them. Their legal attacks against Cal/Stanford created division, ending their chance at AAU membership. While not required to join, B1G wants new members on a path towards it. They've burned enough relationships and created incentives to keep them out, they may not cross the 2/3 membership threshold. This is all about $$ and more would come from BTAA/AAU than a media deal.

Lots of words without much sense. FSU doesn’t have any beef with anyone besides the ACC

@@jasonbooth94 Keep telling yourself that... They went after two prominent AAU members directly who have strong allegiances with other members. If you don't think that will have an impact on AAU voting and don't understand how academic politics works, then I cannot help you. Read between the lines of why B12 talk has become so prominent recently.

This dude Gibbs is a 🤡 if FSU/Clemson leave ESPN can lower the payout or cancel the agreement entirely 🤔 So the conference implodes if the 2 biggest brands leave.
