Cell phone service. For Telus, Koodo, Bell, Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile the service was pretty good and reliable everywhere in the park with the exception of actually in the gorge on the Gorge Trail. If you have any input on the cell service, especially with other cell service providers please leave a comment to help others that are watching this.
Ben and Cheryl, just want to say thank you for always doing these videos for us. I honestly love your videos myself personally as you always give me an idea of what to expect when I go somewhere new. I am forever grateful of your videos you both do.
Absolutely awesome footage! We get much joy out of your, informative, and fun videos! I am always amazed at what Ben can do with that long selfie stick! Thanks for taking us along on the numerous steps, to capture the breathtaking scenery! I felt "breathless" just watching 😅!
I love playing around to see what I can do with the selfie stick and the Insta360 X3. Many people think I'm using a drone but I'm just trying to fake drone shots in places I'm not allowed to fly a drone. Thanks for noticing!
What amazing footage you captured of the gorge. We did it many years back when the kids were little and it still looks so amazing. The whole area around the Finger Lakes is stunning. Great job on this one for sure.❤️
Another thing to live about your videos (along with everything else) is the top notch background music. It's better than many "pro" videos! Nice work all around. Keep on camping and sharing all the great info! You allow me to camp vicariously all winter!
Thanks so much. I struggle finding the right music so it's appreciated when someone mentions it. Lots of new videos coming out over winter and of course all the old ones of the parks we've been to. Enjoy!
The Gorge Trail looks very similar to the Maligne Canyon trail in Jasper National Park. Nope...I take it back. This reminds me more of hikes on Madeira.
im from wayland/dansville ny so i know the drive you made very amazing thanks for the video the glen the big race NASCAR was always my birthday week first week of August it changed for a few last couple years but New York State is very beautiful
Well, we now know where we will be visiting next year. Great video, as always. Really enjoyed your NY adventures and a big thanks for enlightening me. I've been through the finger lakes area dozens of times and had no idea!
Another great video. Such beauty all around. I can’t wait till next July when we go to letchworth and are able to visit there. When Cheryl was talking about the fishing there I was thinking “ I wonder how many takes that took “ Only 1 , way to go Cheryl 👍👍👍👍👍
We meet a lot of people that do the home at Warnings Glen when staying at other parks like Robert H Treman SP, Letchworth SP, Taughanock Falls SP etc. Cheryl's fishing talk with lots of different fish was a shock to both of us when she got it in one take. Even now after all these years she has trouble with the fish for some reason. That's why it's fun to have her do it each time.
So funny that this video came out this morning…. We are currently staying at the Watkins Glen/Corning KOA just outside of town (which is lovely - pricey however)! We did the Gorge Trail while we were here. Just an FYI for everyone - we paid to park just across the street from the Watkins Glen State Park welcome centre in order to do the trail and that allowed us to drive into the park afterwards to check out the sites! Such a lovely area!
These two state parks have been on my to-go list since the Ontario parks have become more difficult to book. Thanks for the great reviews. The camp chairs look cozy 15:06 . What brand? And where did you get them? Would you recommend them?
Cheryl picked those up at Walmart last year. They're a seasonal item that she got in the early spring. I can't find them on the Walmart website right now. They're called sling chairs. She paid around $50 each. They're very comfortable, especially for a little nap.
Hello! Enjoyed your video and got a lot of information from it. We are going to Watkins in about 2 weeks and a question I have is when crossing the border from Canada to the States, is there any restrictions on the food you would bring for your camping. Can you bring prepared food that was made from home. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
Glad you found the video enjoyable. There are a lot of restrictions when entering the USA. You can't bring any food prepared at home. Everything has to be unopened commercially packed food. Most fruits and vegetables aren't permitted as well as meat and meat products. We leave most stuff at home and only bring unopened pantry food then we go to a grocery story to stock up when in the USA. We talked about it a bit in our video just before this one. It's the review of Letchworth State Park. th-cam.com/video/_UKj_2prMBg/w-d-xo.html. Here is where you can start having a look at the rules: www.help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1448?language=en_US#:~:text=General%20Food,are%20enterable%20from%20all%20countries. Coming back into Canada is very easy as we don't really have any food restrictions entering the country.
I think a 7 and 4 year old would love it. You might want to keep them close in the crowd on the trail as there are many places without barriers at the edge.
@@mikegould9278 it would be less busy outside of July and August. I would think September because it would be less busy but the greenery in the gorge would still be very lush adding to the ambiance.
The Gorge trail was amazing. The photos you took 'after hours' reminded me of the Lord of the Rings. It was just gorgeous. How long is the total hike, if you don't take the shuttle back? Thanks.

Hi Coles! Would you reccomend the Gorge trail for a 7 and 4 year old or wait until they are older?

It was about a 2 hours with all the stopping to admire the views and take pictures. It can certainly be done quicker.
