This is pretty much my ideal hard court speed to watch. Not too fast, not too slow, not too bouncy or too skiddy imo. Great win for Kei after all these years, and Stef really isn’t having a great season apart from the clay
Doesn’t take away from the victory, I think most players would’ve fell short to Stef, there was a couple crucial points that could’ve steered the direction of the match
The amount of people I saw doubting Kei after his win over Michelson was absurd. Now people like you try to take away credit by saying Stef is only performing well on clay
@10Vince13 Tsitsipas was a good hard court player couple of years ago. He made couple of semis and finals in M1000 and has also couple of semis at the AO, albeit the hard court is different to the one in the US.
What an astonishing result! It was totally an adventitious outcome in accordance with the fundamental estimations but the quality and performance of Kei Nishikori made a large difference. I hope Nishikori will perpetuate his stability and dominance in this process in order to watch himself at the apogee. Well-deserved game from beginning to the end.
Love seeing Nishikori back in form. Hope he stays healthy and can take a nice run at the US Open
