  • My second rock polishing video. This time I took photos at each stage and included them side by side. They were polished in a rock tumbler over a couple of months.

Lovely outcome with your beautifully polished rocks! My parents got me a rock polishing kit way back in the 70's. I so wish I still had those sweet little rose quartz "gems"! Your grandmother must have been interested in rocks, too. I remember one of your landscape stones was a gift from her. ❤

Yes! She got the rock in my landscape from Arizona. Thanks for remembering that. She was very artistic and I took her arrowhead hunting once. Good memories.

I used Polly Plastics, which I got off of Amazon. I don't really know what is the best to use, but it works for me. I think I'm going to try some media fillers in the tumbler for the next video. Several rocks had some little chips in them and I think it's because I had so much room in the tumbler. My wife helps with the edits. We use an iPad and the video editing app called LumaFusion and recorded with an iPhone for this video. I appreciate you watching the video!

My wife and I had a few misunderstandings about Grown children, and so to keep piece I went out and rented a house(millhouse built ca.19 teen's) around the corner... anyway, Long story short, I was out in the yard mental detecting and found Beautiful Blood Red quartzite rock's, So Me being Me, I'd spend every second not working out digging and poking and being a Rockhound .
Few weeks pass and a cop friend of mine pulls up one day to check up on Me. I was as curious as he at first. Neighbor's, who didn't know Me, though I was on drugs or Crazy as hell. Said how I was outside digging in the ground like an Idiot.
Just before My wife and my self got our head's on straight, I made gifts of extremely Beautiful polished and shaped stones to my Ex- neighbor's LOL ! People are too nosy for their own good, sometimes. One older guy(mid70's) told me, "I said to my wife , that boy can dig around the damned yard all he wants! He works 10or12 hour day's and he's rocked the whole walkway over there! He's not crazy, y'all people are!" I tend to believe him, we still fish together now, when he's able.. 💯 Fact's!

@@RockHunterMark are you tumbling 15 pounds at a time.. seems that after the first one its greatly reduced in size.
I did notice it was a fairly large tumble barrel.
Some people do stages. And combination of batches to fill the barrel.
They tumble on 80 rinse, set aside in water, put in a new batch at 80. Then combine them to fill barrel for the remaining grits.
