    I was in a match with yungbeanz who is in this video. I asked him not to build a frontline Ageo on Isthmus geo spot. He did it anyway and it blew up and killed out whole frontline.
    He then started swearing and complaining about how blue and green were playing. Remember yungbeanz is 6 OS and 3 chev. Then he lied and told the enemy team that I was AFK and trolling, and kept holding repeat kick-ban votes until it passed then he took my stuff, including a base with 2 AFUS.
    I had killed an enemy commander and wiped out one and a half of the frontline bases, and was 16 OS at the time (21 now). Obviously not AFK.
    The enemy even typed LOL on his frontline Ageo before blowing it.
    I literally pinged this guy once, and he blew a gasket and lied, got me kicked, took my stuff and threw the match.
    Even in this match at 20:08 he's complaining about what people 16 OS higher than him are doing, swearing at and insulting them, going on and on for the next several minutes.

      Yeah, he was a big part of the problem. No unit production, no eco expansion, no micro-management. He failed at everything with what he had and blamed it on someone, who was the least of a problem among the entire team, apart from Kuty, who won his lane with Boogies help.

  • @EugeneParallax
    @EugeneParallax 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +9

    I'm DivineEvil in the video. This was a wild-card attempt, and I really did not had an experience of rushing anything from this position, which is for example why I did not sacrifice the comm, nor have I tried to rush the Ageo, which could've brought the Mammoth a lot sooner. On the other hand, you can tell that orange Geo haven't built much additional eco on top of geo and mexes (while I built a ton of winds and reclaimed them to accelerate Mammoth release), and held out the Tzar, so there's a lot of variation in how Mammoth rush can compete with much less expensive Tzar depending on who and how performs it.
    I was pretty much surprised at how much damage Mammoth was dealing and how little it was taking. After I driven Tzar out of the picture, I just basically lost my composure and just tried to attack whatever. The problem is, both opponent's fronts were average OS, and both out front were lowest OS with literally nothing to back up the Mammoth in any shape or form, so I just tried to deal some damage before it goes down. You can tell that with an adequate support, Mammoth would be able to push all the way through the front and kill Tzar purely on merit of its DPS being pinpoint focused damage, not splash, or at least keep it at bay with its sheer durability.

    • @az0cds
      @az0cds 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think you should consider nukelear to be "average OS" - guy was only 1 chev (he didn't have time to lose OS) and could play t1 good enough, but his t2 transition was performed by Rouben, not him.

    • @EugeneParallax
      @EugeneParallax 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@az0cds Sure, but he did have units on the fields and used them reasonably well, and yungbeams did not. He did not even brought com to the front. He wasted his Pounders on wrecks, he wasted his units upon arrival of the Mammoth, and he did not improve his economy at all.
      Chevrons by themselves do not mean someone is bad - just inexperienced. When I say "average OS", I don't mean generally, but relative to the team's roster. If you spec and learn a little, its not a given that you'd always lose OP initially. I personally was VERY close to how nukelear played - managed micro, builts units, but way off the road in scaling and transitioning. I, however, have never been anything like yungbeans, who's 3 chev / 6 OS barely showing any lifesigns or a measure of control, who then blames it on someone else.
      In general, its more of a description of performance - just increase the video speed and pay attention to how front players behave, their income and spending, and you might understand what I mean. On one hand you have a Tzar which is covered by Maces and repaired by rezbots with a flank covered by a fortification also maintained by rezbots and rocketeers... and on the other side you have a guy who doesnt know how to manually fire the Gauntlet, and another guy, who places units in a line to die silently and pointlessly, and literally nothing else. A top OS Air player, who builds Torpedo Bombers before he has any figs is just a cherry on top. You could tell my frustration by my messages in the chat.

      Some genius eco backline player gifted me (front and not doing well) a Mammoth in a game a while back, and I just spammed Lazarus against it. Thing ended up destroying the entire enemy frontline, sniping a comm, and gift us a lot of metal that contributed to a victory at sea as well. I did have plenty of backup from teammates in that case though; not sure how well it would've faired by itself. It ended up dying to spybots disabling it and it's Lazarus maintenance crew. But these Mammoths sure are wonderful units out at the front.

    The tzar is cheaper than Mammoth and is does better against clumped up units, while the mammoth can focus on one with faster firerate

    • @timmietimmins3780
      @timmietimmins3780 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Against a single target, at max range, a Tzar will outdps a mammoth. You have to factor in the reduction in dps due to laser range. And that's 1 on 1. It's even more decisive for cost.
      really, the mammoth is mainly good in no repair situations (relatively late game), simply because it has a massive health pool. But if both are being repaired, Tzars are great against mammoth (because you can pressure the enemy's repair and neither unit has the dps to kill the other even remotely quickly).
      also, the mammoth is actually not great at being repaired, as it's huge build time means that a repair bot heals about 60 health per second on it, which is about the same as a Tzar or Shiva, much worse than say, a tiger. By T2, repairs mean pulling back out of combat to get them, as it is quite a bit slower to repair higher end units. It's not like just repairing brutes while they fight.

  • @Doushibag
    @Doushibag 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Mammoth is great, problem is that it will arrive to the front so much later, because it costs a good chunk more to produce and because it just moves so slowly. Most people generally make the Tzar before they upgrade their mexes to get it out early (the person here didn't do that). And also in this specific instance, the Tzar's greater speed allowed it to retreat and heal back up and fight some more after the Mammoth died.

    • @EugeneParallax
      @EugeneParallax 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I mean, if there were any units at all on our front, then Tzar wouldn't survive - even just with Grunts that were thrown away pointlessly it might have happened. But yeah, this Tzar rush is far from perfect, much like the Mammoth "rush" that I did without knowing how to rush anything at all from the geo spot. You might as well heal the Mammoth... if you have frontliners which are alive.

    • @timmietimmins3780
      @timmietimmins3780 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@EugeneParallax I really don't see it. He has 4 res bots. There is no real danger of outdpsing that much repair, (at max range, that basically zeros the mamoth repair so you must basically extend heavily and be vulnerable to the AOE. The mammoth is fine against rocket bots, as it's basically a near invincible walking HLT, but Even against thug, it's an underdog in brawling, because for cost, pawn/grunt does do like 7 times as much damage and have almost as much health, so with a bit of flanking, you don't need anything like equal value in units to win. (thugs have more dps and health per cost also).
      also, the enemy hot pink player has a guantlet and a commander, so if you do try to rush down the Tzar, you are vulnerable from the flank. And nukelear still has a commander, and is pumping thugs, who also have AOE. Grouping up and throwing units in frontally, is likely to go VERY VERY badly.
      The reason it would be very hard to heal the mammoth is because the Tzar is so good at shooting stuff that is repairing it, and it's too slow to dip in and out of combat. Res bots will get immediately blasted, but the mammoth cannot do the same to the Tzar, as it has terrible speed, much worse range, especially after factoring in the AOE extending the Tzar range, and no AOE, so even if it does get in range of enemy res bots, it won't kill them quickly.

    • @EugeneParallax
      @EugeneParallax 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@timmietimmins3780 Few notes:
      - The point is not out-DPSing the repair, the point is to repair while Tzar is retreated and doesnt present immediate threat to rezbots.
      - The point of higher-tier units is that you preserve DPS. Even if Thugs have more DPS, by the time they reach attack range, they are already being attritioned. Mammoth or any other tanky unit has the same DPS at 100% or at 1%.
      - If id go for the Tzar, the Gauntlet wouldn'tbe long in range to provide support. That beside the point that we also had the gauntlet on our side, which wasnt been used merely due to lack of vision. Again, if I actually had the support, Tzar wouldn't last through the initial engagement, it had very little HP left.
      - Mammoth and Tzar have the same range. It takes ~2 quick shots from Mammoth to melt a rezbot at max range. Whether Tzar AoE is enough to blast the rezbots that repair the Mammoth is another question.

    • @timmietimmins3780
      @timmietimmins3780 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@EugeneParallax The point is the tzar will not have to retreat. Because res bots outrun basically everything, the Tzar outranges everything, and the mammoth is too slow to test your opponent's reaction time.
      the mammoth and the Tzar don't have remotely the same range, because the Tzar has 140 range in AOE. You don't have to aim AT something to kill it with a Tzar, particularly if it has only a couple hundred health. You do with the mammoth, because it has no AOE.
      Also, the mammoth has worse poke, as it is way way slower. you can rush in a bit to extend your weapon range, but once your opponent reacts, they can reestablish optimal range.
      When you have 23 move speed, this effect is tiny. When you have 40, it's more significant. This isn't going to give you hundreds of units, but it will give you a nonzero amount.
      As for the attrition, fair point, but you massively overestimate the factor. I just tested this, out of curiosity. 16 thugs cost 2240 metal and a bit over half the energy of a 2200 metal mammoth.
      If you just fight move 16 thugs into range of a mammoth, with perfect vision, AND you don't attempt to surround it at all (I kept my thugs in a tight line, I would estimate they covered an arc of about 50 degrees frontally, of the mammoth), you will win with 7 thugs at almost full health. the fight isn't really close, and won't be close until you introduce AOE. Or prevent the thugs from getting within range. Probably by threatening to do AOE damage to them if they do.

    Every game I see I'm curious to give it a try, but my only experience is with Forged Alliance and I've never been very good at competitive rts multiplayer.
    Forged Alliance I always struggled on materials, and as I watch more of these replays, it doesn't seem like these people have it or if they do its not as painful as it seemed to be in Forged Alliance.
    Definitely feel like I've never been one of those players able to actually feel like prioritizing harassing eco is worth it when I could be focusing on my eco and supply lines. I'm also a absolute sucker for static defenses in these types of games and from what I see it doesn't happen very often in this game unless a base has already gone down to a certain type of attack (air almost 100% of the time, with other ground defenses being at bottle necks)
    I also tended to rely on spam, having a constant stream of bull heading towards the enemy base, which isn't exactly efficient either.
    I guess my problem is I'm just not really effiency mindset, I find it far more entertaining and fun to just keep producing units and protect my own base. Now, though, being able to transfer units to other players, maybe thats not as big of a weakness as I feel it is, but thats so much of a weakness it makes me think it'd be not worth trying still.

    I would disagree with you on rockets. you do not need critical mass of rockets at all, nor is it really super useful. you need control. The reason it's a terrible idea for some 5 OS player to make rockets isn't because 3 rockets aren't great in bot V bot and to some extent, bot V vehicle, it's because they have almost no defensive value, so you must gain value over time by chipping away, and because they can easily attack from out of enemy range and then outrun any counterattack, skewing your opponent's composition, and on this kind of map, your opponent can't really lean heavy into rocket bot counters (heavy laser tower), because he cannot rely on you not just having a team mate go vehicles from behind you, and heavy lasers are not much good against wolverines.
    well, that and rockets require spotting, which low OS players struggle with.

      @Turmoil-t3 jammer + dgun is longer range than tzar. You only need jammer alive for a brief moment while you walk towards tzar. The idea is tzar dont know dgun is coming and has no possibility to retreat unless its already doing that. At best tzar is moving perpendicular and in that case com can gain range towards tzar faster than it can turn+retreat.
      With sneaky or veil/shroud its not even a contest. Cor t1 jammer is however too short to be used.
      As for losing com that would be a worthy trade as you just dgunned 2000 metal (energy included), but most likely you cloak again and walk back, or keep dgunning enemy targets then attack with army/allies.
