Hello! Glad that you enjoy it, I also enjoy watching runs from others - and reliving my own runs. It was the warm spring conditions mixed with the Sahara sand (that had blown up into the Alps some weeks earlier) that made the snow like sandpaper at times. I didn't see any signs of the snow being different in that spot. Suddenly the right ski just stopped like I had skied into a piece of sandpaper or glue all of a sudden. At the same time it sunk down a few cm into the snow when I hit that spot. When I tried to rescue it, the inner edge of the right ski caught into the snow too and I realised that the best option was to roll around to reduce the forces of the crash. I have skied in warm weather before, but I've never had the skis stop like they did at times in Paradiski this Easter, so I think it's the sand that provided most of the friction - especially when the snow was warmer.
@@johandahlfors goodness that is tricky. I didn’t know that could happen. We were there at the end of January and we’re lucky with a week of sunshine. Stay safe. All the best.
Enjoy watching this and reliving this fabulous run. Did you catch an edge that caused you to crash? Glad you were ok 👍
