Great review Fresh, I was pretty confident that you'd like this pad (due to your skill level). Your audio sounds different in this video, and it was awesome to see some full screen gameplay
Dang, the sound differene between the older pads and this one is distinct. Nice upgrade/improvement on the smoother surface. Thanks for the review Freshy. Woof.
What a nice looking package. I wish that backing design was at least also designed to be seen through the front as well. It looks pretty cool. Great video as always my man.
I may snag that Glaze as I prefer a larger pad. Currently using XXL pads so I don't think I could get used to smaller glass pads. Thanks for the review!
the way everybody's describing it so far sounds just like a 3.0 with pledge, which I already use. Wouldn't even upgrade unless they drop the wallhack branding for skypad branding
I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t gotten a glass mouse pad but I really love the glass feet that came with my beast x mini, I use them on my hien and FreeFall SV, it’s odd because everyone I’ve ever seen says glass feet are way too slippery and no one could ever control it. I feel like I can microflick and stop my precisely than ever
Great review as always! I heavily disagree when it comes to speed, though - my copy of the SP-004 is SO much faster than the 3.0 when comparing them to each other with all skates on the market, but seeing that several people are saying different things, I wonder if it might be some other factor acting something up 🤔 Hard agree on the WALLHACK/SkyPAD Obsidian Pro dots, those things are freaking AWESOME on this new pad.
Thanks. The pad is smoother, but mine isn’t noticeably faster than the 3.0 with either the plastic skates from TJ or the wallhack skates, and I think claiming it’s so much faster than the 3.0 is a massive stretch 😅 Could be skate application. Could be temperature differentials. Who knows, but both pads are fast.
Could potentially be humidity differences or temperature. I know on my skypads I've never been able to get a spin like some have but my home is usually around 50% humidity in my climate if not closer to 60% sometimes.
@@RitzDaCat yea I was thinking that also. Very humid where I’m at. Both feel great though. Loving the smoothness changes which I think will be most important for most people when comparing the two.
ive heard that the 4.0 is much like the 3.0 but with a more polished feel, i dont think its worth the upgrade if you own a gen 3 as you can use a product like pledge to get a good feel, but if you are planning to switch to glass pads from cloth pads the 4.0 is definitely a better option for smoothness.
Padsmith did it first, and it was cheaper. Padsmiths glass pad is smoother than the skypad 3.0 and it had a full rubber base way before the 4.0. I'm sticking with my Padsmith I see no reason to switch. I have a skypad 3.0 that I'll probably just use as a cutting board from now on 😂

@@FreshReviewsYT oh but can i also keep it on? and add the wallhack skates and is it bad to play with the standart skates? But what are the best skates for the glas skypads and do i have to clean the glass mouse pad or i have to do nothing
@@FreshReviewsYT sheeesh a reply from the goat himself, much aprecciated. are the tiger v2s slower than jades? been using them on my raiden and recently triem oem skates that were slower and was surprised that i felt more confident and accurate/ less floaty.
Its just preference. I like glass because easier to clean and maintain along with consistent glide for years and yes generally they are speed oriented.
Its as close to frictionless as you get can get, especially with some quick skates like jades. For someone like me, its kinda hard to go back after feeling glass. My clothpad had a tugging feeling when moving side to side with the mouse, and while not very noticeable at the time, (its a hien) after getting a glasspad it feels like night and day. Especially being a fingertip grip player, its really nice for microadjustments.
@@ravencl thanks for the response. are they more suited to higher sens users, cos i play games like hunt showdown at a fairly low sens and need a fine aim rather than doing loads of flicks and stuff.
@@onepunchdave3216 it isn’t really made for any sens, and honestly is typically worse for higher sensitivitys. Given that you play a more precise game control pads may be a better option for you, because it’s a bit easier to stay on a precise pixel with control. It’s a give and take kinda thing, cause there are plenty of tac fps players that excel on a glasspad, but it does take a higher degree of skill cause all of the stopping and fine movements are on you. It really comes down to if you feel that the lack of freedom on your current pad is something that is annoying or holds you back, or if microadustments are important in the game you play. Also, though glasspads are “good” for flicking unless you’re exceptional it’s mostly bad because typically people don’t have the mouse control to take use of frictionless aim. That’s why you usually find glass and speed pads in use for games like overwatch and apex, because in those precision and flicking take a backseat to smoothness and tracking. Overall, if you like the feel of frictionless aim, want to improve your aim, and especially if you play a fingertip grip a glasspad is very much something to be interested in. (Sorry if this was longwinded)

With many glass pads having solid performance, it’ll just be an analysis everyone will have to make about it whether to pick up another glass pad.
